BEIJING ? Fed up with what it sees as the corrupting influence of computer games on youth, the Chinese government plans to introduce to the online world a new cast of characters based on old-fashioned Communist values.

Instead of heavily armed superheroes licensed to kill, the new game will highlight the likes of a model Communist soldier famous for helping other people. To advance in this game, players won't gun down their enemies. They'll mend socks, lots of them, and gain points by getting appreciation letters for doing good deeds such as helping old ladies home in a rainstorm and stopping people from spitting on the sidewalk.

The prize is a signed virtual copy of Mao Tse-tung's Little Red Book.

Why not make a game to have the player wash dishes all day? I'd rather shove a pineapple up my nostril than play this game.

Hm, it seems they really are sad after all but I like the idea of washing dishses <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif"> After all they made it for the 'Eye Toy'.

You probably have to be a Communist Party member to buy and play the game. Perhaps you'll have to swear with your hand on Mao's Red Book's first.

Well, America's army made a game about what they think is right and now the communist party in China made theirs.
Sadly enough, one get's more popular than the other.

I bet its not a game at all, they probably make them wear ordinary glasses and tell them to go to the 'virtual' workhouse. "oooh its like the real thing....ARGH my back....wow, this is amazing"

That game sounds absolutely awesome! In fact, i hear they are coming out with a sequel entitled "The mystery of the stolen bag of rice: The Xi Gong Odyssey". I hear that you are a lone wolf soldier, sent on an epic task. A bag of Rice was stolen from Old Mrs Ming Mong. You're mission: to find the culprit and convince him that what he did was wrong and that he must apoligise to the poor old lady, maybe offer to mend her socks.

Somehow, i don't think so
