Correct. You only need fraps, though.
VirtualDub is for processing the video to make it a smaller size. It is just a video editor. Fraps RECORDS the videos to one, large, uncompressed video file.
Fraps is a shareware program. It will only allow you to make a 30 second video with a www.fraps.com overlay on the front of the video. You have to pay for the full version to unlock it to record a longer video than 30 seconds.

For less sounds better... I'll have a look on www.black-market-ebay.net
Antoher question: What's it with your video? I can see some alley, and the whole thing is being blown op. And a guy with a orange suite runs across...
I just don't get it. Perhaps there is something I'm missing or not recognizing ?

My first and only try at a movie of my TFC spectacular stuff. I always
forgot to record a demo, so I scraped some old HLTV thingies.

All it does is add a stamp somewhere in your registry for the new version. so if you try to later install an older version, it won't work.
so if you install xxx program trial 2.5......then uninstall it....you wont be able to install a cracked 2.4....because it wont let you downgrade. You will need to find a cracked 2.5 or higher before you get it to work.

Couldn't you just delete the registry entries?
I've got a short video of CSS with Cypress Hill - When the S**t goes Down for the sound track. It's about 30 seconds I think, made with trial Fraps since I didn't know about host_framerate and make_movie or whatever that command is. It exports the frames as TGAs and sound as a WAV, then you can put it together with VirtualDub and edit it in your program of choice. That way you can make a higher quality movie (fraps takes up CPU power, if the game's FPS drops below the rate you're recording at it shows and looks bad), and its legit too.

A lot of programs "mask" themselves with a cypher of some sort (Not bit masking though). It's also a way viruses can easily be overlooked.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

For some reason whenever I use Fraps, I never get more than ~10fps. I'd use the makemovie in HL2 if I were to make one of these things.

You need a good amount of RAM and a fast HDD to record well with fraps.
