Ever wonder what happened to the old SnarkPit URL?

Well, here it is. Sad, isn't it?

Whats sad isn't so much what it is today. Whats sad is how it came to be this way.

There is no history until something happens, then there is.

I hate those sites... They're called "Portal-Potties" in the world of malware prevention.

For those of you who don't know: here's the scoop on why we are .net and not .com anymore.

Our old hosting company Oktagone (or as I call it "c**ktagone") was set up so that it was the actual owner of the domains that you use. Normally YOU own the domain so you can take it to another hosting company if you so desire. When Oktagone screwed up all the sites an was "forced to undergo costly repairs" they claimed that the financial strain was just too much, so they shut down and wouldn't give anyone thier domains back. Apparently they sold them all to a ad-s**te company, and now we are like a cathedral that is used for a meth-lab while the good people of the congregation huddle in a lesser-known hostel.

well.. it can be bought back

http://www.namedrive.com/contact_owner.php?domain_id=68266&lang=e

just sounds silly to give money to such a place..

anyways the .net is like .. ... a REVOLUTION !~!

i missed it too actually , but i'm happy to see the pit is still around and would much rather have it be .net than have people lose money to unfair money exchanges.

Ockta = gone

;p I would put a list of like 40 puns , but i think one is just enough.

One day I was mapping and thought, "I haven't been to the Snarkpit in a while. I think I'll go there now." And to my dismay it was gone! after waiting a while and trying back I did a google search and found it. The rest of the story is boring.
