It came from nowhere. My wife's coworker sent her the first
link. I found the second one. I tried doing some research
on the identity of those performers, but I couldn't find anything else
from Googling them.
Obviously, the first one was recorded in a dorm room. The second
one...well, it's the source of inspiration for the first music video.

I just googled this phenomenon, and there are so many videos...
Here's another one: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6739710473912337648
It's only funny because the guy in the back messes up so there's actually no one lip syncing at one point.

In
this
video, the person in the back is obviously playing some sort of
shooter game. However, I cannot figure out which one.
The video is too grainy to see the details.

He's playing CS.
You can see the distinctive scoreboard at one point, and you can see him put on the silencer for his M4. Also, you see at one point him spectating 3rd person after he died.

I don't see what the big deal is. Its a couple of asian guys lip
syncing Backstreet Boys songs. They look like idiots, yes, but IMO its
not as funny as someone catching himself on fire with a beverage. I
personally can't sit through an entire one of these, its not funny
enough to warrant listening to bad music
" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">
And yeah, that was definitely CS.

Could be.
Friend of mine saw a guy in some sports car almost hit an old man crossing the street. (The light was red too) The old guy started wailing on the guys hood. Banged it up like crazy.
Apparently there was a cop there who saw the whole thing and laughed. I suppose he fealt like there was no need to give the guy a ticket or to assist the old man.

Whats with "2 asian guys lip-syncing to american boy band songs while one other asian guy is in the background using a computer?" A new Genre perhaps?
