I don't think this thread is too early, and if I don't get it, someone else will, and that's basically Snarkmarks that they're STEALING. From Father Christmas. How dare they. So, um, yeah, whaddya asking for?

My list:

  • Creative MuVo Micro N200 256 MB MP3 player, just so I'll have one.
  • Digital camera, don't really care too much about it so long as I can take more than 3 pictures and they're nice and clear. My dad said "Don't be surprised if you get a camera for Christmas" so that worked out well.
  • Money, my grandma always gives me $200 anyways.

Yeah, my list kinda sucks, that's why I'm asking for yours.

One day you'll know what you're talking about, I can hardly imagine

1. Printer for my digital camera.
2. Maybe a Wacom tablet...?

That's all I can think of at the moment.

Nothing special really. Christmas has become so commercial, which sucks. TBH I'd rather not celebrate it at all. Always nice seeing relatives though.

Sorry if I ruined your Christmas spirit <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_wink.gif">

An Official Red Ryder Carbine-Action Two-Hundred-Shot Range Model Air Rifle!

I really want a DS, but I want it in black, so it'd have to be imported from Japan (~$160USD). Which is about $60 more expensive than buying one of the terrible three colors they have here now.

Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

What's Christmas?

Being Pagan and all, we dont celebrate false prophets. But we do celebrate the Winter Solitce. We make and give each other gifts in my family. I have to agree with what OtZman said.. its too commercial.

So Christians, enjoy your PAGAN TREE, And WREATHS, YOUR PAGAN LIGHTS and PAGAN HOLIDAY.

From the History Channel web Page ( http://www.historychannel.com/exhibits/holidays/christmas/index.html )

In the early years of Christianity, Easter was the main holiday; the birth of Jesus was not celebrated. In the fourth century, church officials decided to institute the birth of Jesus as a holiday.

Unfortunately, the Bible does not mention date for his birth (a fact Puritans later pointed out in order to deny the legitimacy of the celebration). Although some evidence suggests that his birth may have occurred in the spring (why would shepherds be herding in the middle of winter?), Pope Julius I chose December 25. It is commonly believed that the church chose this date in an effort to adopt and absorb the traditions of the pagan Saturnalia festival. First called the Feast of the Nativity, the custom spread to Egypt by 432 and to England by the end of the sixth century. By the end of the eighth century, the celebration of Christmas had spread all the way to Scandinavia. Today, in the Greek and Russian orthodox churches, Christmas is celebrated 13 days after the 25th, which is also referred to as the Epiphany or Three Kings Day. This is the day it is believed that the three wise men finally found Jesus in the manger.

By holding Christmas at the same time as traditional winter solstice festivals, church leaders increased the chances that Christmas would be popularly embraced, but gave up the ability to dictate how it was celebrated. By the Middle Ages, Christianity had, for the most part, replaced pagan religion. On Christmas, believers attended church, then celebrated raucously in a drunken, carnival-like atmosphere similar to today's Mardi Gras. Each year, a beggar or student would be crowned the "lord of misrule" and eager celebrants played the part of his subjects. The poor would go to the houses of the rich and demand their best food and drink. If owners failed to comply, their visitors would most likely terrorize them with mischief. Christmas became the time of year when the upper classes could repay their real or imagined "debt" to society by entertaining less fortunate citizens.

Christmas is my favorite holiday, if only because of my fond childhood memories of the "magic" of Christmas.

Hehe, totally! The pink and blue are crappy, and while the silver one is nice enough, it isn't part of the new value packs here that come with Mario Kart DS or Nintendogs. I'm not overly drawn to the DS just yet anyway, but if I wanted one, I'd be sorely tempted to hang on for some better colours

As for my list...

Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard - Ok so it's totally over the top, but I can't think of much else!
Logitech MX1000 Cordless Mouse - Same as above really
Maxtor 200gb 7200rpm 16mb cache HDD - I'm ever short of storage space
NFS: Most Wanted (Xbox) - It's need for speed going back to it's police chase roots!
Psychonauts (Xbox) - It's actually coming out here soon; woo!
Infernal Affairs Trilogy DVD set - Awesome films, check them out if you haven't already
Sennheiser MX500 Earphones - My current earphones are on their deathbed
Playgear Pocket (PSP case) - I worry about my PSP's loveliness being damaged!
New wallet

Most of my relatives just give me money to be honest, with the exception of my parents. Not that I'm complaining. Recently I seem to have recieved gifts I barely use (my wacom tablet, digital camera), but I figure I'm definately going to be making use of a new keyboard and mouse, so as unexciting as they are it's probably far more functional for me.

I totally thought I was going to have a really quiet Christmas this year as I thought my dad was away working and my sister is spending a year in New Zealand, but it turns out my Gran, Auntie and Uncle are coming through to stay, and my Dad actually is back. So hey, that's a pleasant surprise.

No, I will not paint one. :P Anyway, the money it would take to do that would be more than $60, while looking profesional, anyway. (Have to remember I don't want to paint over the decals or the product sticker ... as I get free stuff because of it <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">)

Reno, we don't have a pink one here, we have Silver, "electric" blue, Teal (packaged with Nintendogs), and "hot rod" red (packaged with Mario Kart).

I've heard rumors that a Black DS will be released with Hunters. Like the HotRod red with Mario Kart.

I'm really excited about Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time. Super Star Saga was really fun.

Yoshi Touch and Go and the new Kirby all look fun. I suppose I can wait until I absolutly have to buy one ... in 2007 when New Super Mario Brothers comes out <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif">

The thing that REALLY sucks is this store which previously said they'd only charge an extra ten dollars to import a DS from Japan, any color you want (that's available). Now they're denying that statement <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_cry.gif">

Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

I have the blue one, it's actually pretty nice. I have Kirby's Canvas Curse, Castlevania, Mario Kart, Mario 64 and WarioWare Touched!. I'm waiting for Animal Crossing and the eventual Metroid Prime game. There are a few others I've seen in passing, but can't think of which ones.

Crono, we have pink as well, the Nintendogs ones are the Teal/Pink variety I think, pretty sure there were two.

I can guarantee you that a new PC is far more expensive than everything on that list <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif"> Besides, it's not a "get me it all!" list, it's just a list of pretty much everything I particularly want at the moment that people can pick and choose from <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

Nothing, really. Its not a common thing to give eachother gifts in The Netherlands. We have Sinterklaas though. Its a celebration around the saint Sint Nicolaas, i believe somewhere around 1500 he gave food and cloths to the poor. In that spirit we give eachother gifts at 5 December. Sometimes you pack it up in a so called surprise. Usualy made inspirired by ones actions and hobby's. Not sure how to explain though.

The only thing i can say is that i bought myself a saitek x52 HOTAS I expect it to come in monday or teusday.

My Christmas list is the same every year so my Spouse and children cannot possibly mess it up. "Undergarments"

Thats about it. <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

Anything else I want, such as PC upgrades I get throughout the year and I hardly ever upgrade but one can never have enough clothes. <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif">

Damn there are some spoiled people on this forum.

I'm not really going to ask for anything this Christmas (seeing as how we don't have the money right now to buy anything anyways). I'd rather just spend the time with family and friends, although I really could use a copy of Photoshop CS, however I'll probably end up acquiring it through "less legal ways". Other than that I'm definatly going to be purchasing some art prints from some of my favorite artists, like Mr. John Wallins and Craig Mullins.
