Nothing, really. Its not a common thing to give eachother gifts in The Netherlands. We have Sinterklaas though. Its a celebration around the saint Sint Nicolaas, i believe somewhere around 1500 he gave food and cloths to the poor. In that spirit we give eachother gifts at 5 December. Sometimes you pack it up in a so called surprise. Usualy made inspirired by ones actions and hobby's. Not sure how to explain though.

The only thing i can say is that i bought myself a saitek x52 HOTAS I expect it to come in monday or teusday.

Santa Claus=St Nicholas
most countries have their own version of St Nicholas just with different names/appearances/etc.

I think G7 should be taken instead of MX1000, SpoolE, its far more new :P I have MX1000 but when it runs out of power, I'll have myself G7.

However, for christmas... I think I'd like to get my character in WoW to level 60 :P

Spoole was just quoting me madedog :P

But yeah, while the G7 is definately tempting in ways, I'm not to keen on the lack of side buttons (the MX1000 has back/forward and application switch, the G7 only has back <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/sad.gif">) and it does cost nearly twice the price. I basically just want a good quality cordless mouse with no less buttons than my current MS Intellimouse explorer (and side scrolling wheel would be nice), and apparently the MX1000 fits the bill. Would you recommend it, despite the fact you want the G7?

Lack of side buttons? Doesn't it have all three side buttons? And Intellimouse < All mice <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_lol.gif"> <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/leper.gif">

And yes, I would recommend it. If you were to check the pricetag, you'd want MX1000 but if you have big budget - go for G7.

I don't really WANT anything...

Maybe if this one hot girl I know would finally admit that she likes me, that's be enough for Christmas. (The church she goes to and that I go to sometimes doesn't celebrate Christmas anyway...)

? quoting MoneyShot
What's Christmas?

Being Pagan and all, we dont celebrate false prophets. But we do celebrate the Winter Solitce. We make and give each other gifts in my family. I have to agree with what OtZman said.. its too commercial.

So Christians, enjoy your PAGAN TREE, And WREATHS, YOUR PAGAN LIGHTS and PAGAN HOLIDAY.

[QUOTED THING]

Sounds like somebody is being a bitter baby because their precious pagan festival was co-opted by Christianity and relegated into a historical funfact. What better way to destroy the competition than by assimilating parts of it?

Yeah... I remember back in Bjarnhaven in 300BC we used to haul in the Yuletide log and hang the christmas lights.

I never really want much for christmas. Being a buddhist i don't really think about the material side of it. I just like being with all my family, or getting wasted.

I would like though

An effects board, X3 reuninion and lots of choccy.

I thought alcohol consumption was inconsistent with a Buddhist's quest to understand and develop the mind.

There's this 'kid' (15 years old) in Ratanapuri who's been meditating for the last six months with no water or food. He's trying to reach enlightenment. Nirvana. Whatever you want to call it.

Could be a ploy, but, that's still impressive. Like that guy who rolled through India. Whatever floats your boat, I guess.

Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

There are stories of Buddhist monks achieving amazing feats - surviving overnight at 20,000 feet with only a shawl, going for weeks without food or water, walking barefoot across scaldingly hot rocks without feeling pain, etc. Honestly for many of these stories I actually believe it. They have such control over their mind and body, I could see it happening.

However, 6 months without water is... f**king impossible?

And food.. well maybe he could go for 6 months if he had a good store of fat beforehand, but if he really tries to go 6 years he is going to die, simple as that )-:.

No food and water? Erm...that's a little extreme now , isn't it? He risks reaching a coma before Nirvana, and all the effort would have gone to waste (unless coma=Nirvana?).
