Myrk-, Andrei was talking about that very thing, it's called lucid dreaming.

I can't do it on a regular basis, but I can do it occasionally. I don't have the moment where I realize I'm dreaming, but I do wish for things (while dreaming) and they come true.

I had a friend who could lucid dream every night. Needless to say, he slept all the time <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

And UD, I'm familiar with the idea that a boy's first time is short. I wasn't trying to be rude, it's just the phrase "first piece of ass" just struck me as odd.

And, I don't want you to have to revisit/remember bad experiences, but if you hint at them you can expect people to ask about it.

The key to lucid dreaming is to regularly ask yourself "Am I dreaming?" before falling asleep. It sounds stupid, but it sometimes works. It's kinda like hypnotising yourself to verify every now and then whether you are awake or not.

[edit]

I once dreamt I was a soldier during World War I. I was stuck in the trenches and was afraid to come out. When I finally convinced myself to do so, I grabbed my rifle [which looked suspiciously like a Mauser kar98k (wwII german rifle)] and prepared to make some poor fool's day. I pull the bolt, take aim and discover that the weapon was deforming slowly in my hands, as if it were made out of soft rubber, before "liquefying" between my fingers. At this point I was overwhelmed by a horrible sensation of defenselessness. Moments later I "felt" pain ("felt" because I wasn't actually feeling the pain, rather the brain was informing me that I was supposed to feel it) in my stomach and I knew it was the end of me. Think it was shrapnel from a mortar shell.
I remember dying in other dreams aswell. I once got stabbed in the stomach with a sword (again, in the stomache).

Yeah, pain and death are very strange things in dreams. While dreaming I'm still very afraid of pain, although I don't know why, since obviously it's not a physical sensation in my dreams. So obviously its the memory of pain that your mind is drawing on, but have you ever tried to remember pain while awake? When you're experiencing real pain, all you can think about is making it stop, but the second it's gone it's hard to remember exactly what you were feeling. Quite the quandary.

Anyway -- there's one nightmare that I had when I was about 11 or 12 that I still remember quite vividly. It sounds absolutely stupid, hokey, and not very scary... but I woke up terrified.

In this dream, I'm looking at myself from above, like a top down perspective. I'm sitting on a checkered marble floor, playing with some toys, and my mother is in the corner in a rocking chair watching me. The top down view of the checkered floor makes it seem like I'm on a chess board. Anyway -- out of nowhere, an arrow is shot. It's heading right at me, and going very slowly. I'm watching, but I can't intevene. My mom doesn't seem to notice. The arrow hits me in the head, and I fall down dead. That's when I woke up. I heard somewhere you're not supposed to ever die in dreams, but I did... and I was terrified when I woke up. I was sweating and afraid to fall asleep.

It seems silly now, and I have no idea what it means, but I was really scared at the time. I haven't had a nightmare that I remember in years.

Thats the thing. What was odd, was YOU thinking it was odd not me. I thought you were being an ass TBH. I grew up with two fairly common saying to describe time.

"Faster than a teenagers first piece of ass" and "Slower than steam rising off dog s**t on a cold winter day".

A tad crude but between guys not uncommon at all. I wouldn't recommend it in mixed company though.

I didn't mean to "hint". I was just being part of the conversation and truly no more strange than what anyone has posted thus far.

Up until I was about 12 or so I had a reoccurring dream. A big ball of yarn was floating in front of me. It always started that way. Placid and pretty. It always struck me how pretty it was right before it unraveled. I knew that if I couldn't roll it back into a ball that I would be beat unmercifully. I woke up screaming every time.

Thats how strange my dreams were/are.

Sounds like fear of failure/doing something you weren't allowed to if you ask me. Oh, wait, no-one did. Sorry.

Never took dream interpretation 101 myself. The truth of the matter is, I do not want to know what direction my dreams are pointing to. I may need a white jacket with really long arm sleeves that tie in the back.

Ladies, ladies!

Anyway, for the topic.

Not very recently dreamed, but... I have seen myself playing a game and the second moment inside the game... for quite several times. Waking up in World of Warcraft and discovering yourself in the Burning Steppes (those playing it know what I am talking about) is not the best feeling. Running my ass of was what I did then.

The weirdest dream I've got was being in a world such as Matrix. The same code as you can see in it. I just mention it cause I really don't want to remember it, it was VERY weird and unbelieveable. I could even write a whole damn book out of it if I would want to...

This lucid dreaming stuff sounds awesome. I will try the "Am I dreaming?" thing when going to sleep today, see if I've got something amazing to tell about tomorrow. <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_wink.gif">

I once had a dream years ago in which I killed several people and woke up with my hands covered in blood. It was scary until I noticed a bite mark on my wrist. Obviously a spider or something bit me and I bled all over the place.
That was the weirdest thing that has ever happened to me.

I have lots of short dreams that involve walking, tripping over, then waking up at the moment I hit the ground. Once I had a dream where I was walking down some stairs, and I hit my head against something and woke up. Then I realised I just slapped myself in the face.

I think it was actually a reflex. You thought you hit your head in reality and the brain automatically moved your arm to inspect the damage.

I've had a bit similiar dream, but I got buried alive. I was in my own funeral with the coffin open. I could see everyone coming over. I tried to tell them that I wasn't really dead, but I could move my mouth or anything else. When they finally put me 6 feet under, I was suddenly able to move again. Of course I started to scream and hammer the coffin with my fists... That's where I woke up with my knuckles hurting from beating my brothers bed over mine. Weird dream, but it scared the s**t out of me.

Years ago in the night dream:
I was walking along a white corridor. Then I saw some people loudly talking and I don't know why, but I said to them: "Be quiet. You will wake me up.". Next I went taking some turnings and I got very dark room with little red light. Then I saw a monster who told me he will kill me. I killed him with axe (I don't know, how this appeared in my hand).

I remember a dream or... actually i was awake and i was JUST about to fall asleep and then a kind of black whirling hole in the ceiling and a black skinny hand came out, i knew it was a with hand, i don't know why... I also think i heard the with laugh at me too. Anyways, it pulled me into the hole and then i came into some kind of "warp-speed" tunnel, teleporting tunnel, whatever you want to call it, i think you know what i mean.

I flied through it and the walls were like living pictures that showed things i remembered from my life or just something i had seen in the tv etc...

I ended up flying into one of the windows which became a nightmare i think. This dream was from my childhood.

AND also something REALLY weird.

I was dreaming i was a baby and we were driving home and parked in our "garage" (Really not a garage, but a parking lot with a plastic roof :P).

My mom and dad (I don't remember if anyone else was there) went into the house, and they had forgotten me in the car. I then crawled a little around and saw the hand brake (OH GOD NO!) and then i pulled it :P.

The car then rolled out of our "garage" and ended bumping into something which i thought was a house-wall but i found out it was the kerbstone (spelled?). Then my mom and dad come and got me out and stuff.

The funny thing are that the day after i asked my mom and dad if they knew something about it, since it was so real, and they did! Funny that you can remember things from the time you were baby...

I also had a dream that i (as usual) went into my children nurses house (Whatever it is named) and went into the dinner-room and then i saw her cat and went to pet it. then it cut my face up, and i woke up. Fortunately, it wasn't something that had happened before. <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

Somehow, I was transformed into a fish-person last night. I wasn't a mermaid, but I was able to breath under water. I had to find this little kid somewhere in the bottom of the lake. Perhaps it's triggered by the latest "Harry Potter" movie.

Then, I was with my wife (no longer fish anymore). We're trying to get brunch at this small cafe. They were remodeling the store, and there's dust and construction equipment all over the store. My wife sat down at a table, but my chair has water on it. So I was waiting for the waiter to clean it up. However, the waiter was chatting with one of the construction workers, and he didn't really care about our orders or my chair. It's quite frustrating.

Then I woke up.
