Want to hear something badass? The first time I played through HL2 and I was in Black Mesa East in Eli's lab... I noticed something on the bulletin board.

It's the newspaper article about the surrender of earth thats tacked up.

On the bottom part of the page is a picture of a man grieving. Here I managed to find the screenshot on google images, and I've circled part of the screenshot:

I recognized that picture from the online edition of the New York Times on September 11, 2001. I was moved by the picture and saved it to my harddrive, and then I saw it in HL2. How much do you want to bet that they didn't ask permission to use the photo? :P

As far as I know, no one else has ever made this connection. Someone give me an e-cookie!

thanks Orph! the game freezes often though (today it crashed and closed), i think it's because of the ram, i have 512mb only. i'll need more if i want to map big maps, hammer is always saying that the system is.. overloaded?
i'll probably get 1gb more soon. i must.

that's... after the mine. there are some trains and cars, you kill some masked-guys, then enter somewhere (lol), they contact alyx, and then you get to ride the car...

sorry im bad at explaining and too lazy to run HL2 and check. it takes a while to load.

Just curious, is there any chance they will ever write a novel based on Half-Life like the Halo books which will answer some or most of the big questions?

Not only did Valve copy the article. They copied the Paper's Title(if it is from the NY Times).
