Has anyone else made the upgrade already? Is it worth it?

When I read the release note, there doesn't seem to be any dramatic or significant improvement over version 1.0

As far as I've seen, its less compatible than the previous firefox... so no, don't upgrade because even less will work!

Meh, if ain't broke don't fix it. I'll stick with what I have, <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif"> Until I hear better things about this new version of FF, that is.

It is worth the update surely.
Because after that, there's no need to go and download those firefox updates.

The new update function will do it automatically. When updating to a new version, it will disable extensions and themes that aren't compatible yet, so your profile doesn't screw up. Also, 1.5 fixed some nasty security holes.

I updated my FF on my desktop and it's almost impossible to post here. The reply box is all black and there's code floating all over the place.

Stick with 1.0.7

Disable Javascript posting in your snarkpit preferences. Lep promised to fix it, but he's been a bit busy, I think.

I took the bait and upgraded. It works pretty well. I can definitely notice a difference in performance.

However, I do have to turn Javascript off for the SnarkPit.

If you don't like goofing around with files in your profile folder and want to apply speed tweaks to firefox, google for the extension called "FasterFox". It's a pretty nifty way to boost browser speed.
