No, it's something he's repeatedly done. It takes awhile for ANYONE on ANY connection to load large images. It doesn't matter how fast the download rate is if the server is busy or has a slow upload :
It's annoying to say the least.

The original Xbox's hard drive is only detachable if you want to void your warranty, and it's not really feasible to be taking it out and taking it to your mates house for the evening or anything. It was also only 8gb, and I don't think all of that was actually "active" for file storage (some was dedicated as useable by games for caching, for example). Yeah you could switch in a larger HDD and get it to work by modding the console, but not everybody wants to do that and I'm sure similar things will happen for the 360 at some point down the line for those who do.

As for not taking the time to create a smaller-sized image, I think
everyone likes images to load fast, and you like your bandwidth to be
saved, so... yeah, take the extra 5 seconds it takes. Uploads faster
too.
Anyway, 3 XBox'es? Why so many? Are you going to set up a LAN-club or such?

Did you save up the money yourself to buy 3 of them? And how are the online auctions going?

NO! he didn't save the money himself... His parents are demi-rich and mommy and daddy buy everything for him because he is Emo and they don't want him cutting himself like he did when they ran out of lucky charms cereal and his mom wouldnt buy anymore.

He is, and he's gotten rich by fixing cars, as we can see in his hotrod thread. The picture is starting to form...

I'm saying this genuinely, without snideness or sarcasm - quotes like this are why I love Snarkpit. There are few mapping circles, or art circles in general, that are founded on the almost-tradition of its members overstepping the boundaries of tact for the sake of saying what needs to be said.
