tbh MS, the implementation of this new model viewer is making me seriously consider throwing in the towel. i just can't be arsed having to search through lists of text to find models.

after i ranted a little in the email newsletter thingy, someone mentioned that they thought the new viewer could be turned off in hammers options. they were right. ![]()
ah,
isn't that ^^ so much better to choose from, than a crappy list of model names?

Does everyone still have blurry in-editor icons such as cubemaps etc..Just though it would be fixed with the release of the new SDK, also I noticed a significant drop in framerate when playin source
(Good FPS, but high m/s under budget reading) heard it might have somfin to do with the Specularity update

MS, Tools>Options>General tab, undo the checkbox for 'use vgui model browser', and it'll revert back to the old.
though if you're mapping for dod:s, you won't have any pictures. i used my first day with dod by loading up each model in the viewer, to get aquainted with them, and taking the pics as i went along. i don't mind uploading the pics if anyone here would prefer using them, but if so, i'll wait until after they release kalt (this week) because it'll probably have a few extra models with it.

I had to disable the vgui browser since it didnt work at all. I just got an empty window with a coloured rectangle in the corner.
Other features are nice though, model/displacement previews in the 2d views in particular.
