If anyone wants a map on the server I'll endeavour to get at least 5 - 10 maps - be it unreleased, new, beta, alpha whatever. I want to see my money going to your maps! Hopefully we can have constructive feedback on it, and get something from it in a forward direction - as I feel the server is sitting idle doing none of us a service.
Exactly the purpose it wasn't purchased for! So come on guys, let's get round and bring back some of that mapping spirit and community interaction with critique of Snarkpit made maps, playtested, here, ON THE SNARKPIT!
I'll have the first nominated maps up on Monday, 09:00 GMT - so get suggesting, we only have this weekend!

Yahoo's briefcase did allow up to 15 meg files to be uploaded. You might try there.
Also, in spite of my 56k connection, unless Gwil has rescinded my activities, I still have access to the server. I can help too on some level with map/server rotations.

omega - As Orph says, Yahoo will do it, if not I have some hosting c/o Monqui, so that could be used too.
Seriously guys, throw suggestions/links into the mix - it's time to inject the life we had in the server in the first few weeks of its existence.

These guys have a pretty decent service too. I use them all the time and I haven't had any trouble with them yet.
I'm down for some good ol' DM. The reason I haven't joined the server lately is because it's ALWAYS empty, unlike the way it was less than a year ago.

I hope it's still beta 1 were talking about here.
Gwil, I'll have a version out by the end of this weekend, although I won't be able to participate until I get my new video card.

Last I heard Sir, you had a card at least, if not better than mine. I am beginning to fear that you have built something that is causing you to have troubles more so than your card is failing. Or, did I miss something and your card broke recently?
I have a 9800pro 256 card that has not come across anything built for HL2 that it cannot handle and as we all know, the 9800 is old news now. What card are you pushing your map with these days and, can we test your map on our machines to see if it is indeed your card, or your map that is the issue?
I am only suspicious because since HL2 has come out, I have heard many complain about their cards when all along its their construction thats the true culprit.

Well, whats going on is that after every compile my framerates are either great or terrible depending on the day for no apparent reason. I also get fragmenting, graphics glitches, and ultimately, every time I run the map my computer freezes with a looping sound, and I have to do a hard shut down. This (any of this) shows no pattern, nor does it happen in the same area/or time frame. It seems random. Truth be known, I feel like it's a heat problem with the card, but I recently cleaned out the insides and air blew out all the fans. I also :
Flashed the Bios to the most recent version,
Updated all drivers, (video/sound/etc),
Turned off every livin' thing I could as prescribed in the steam help forums,
did a complete steam re-install,
nothing seems to help.
I was due for an update anywho, I am a tech edge junkie, so I might as well upgrade to a PCI express system like I've been wanting to for some time. My current rig is over a year old(most components are considerably older, like hard drives,NIC card,CD/WR etc.). I will do this and be happy for another year or two.

That makes it waterwerx, cloudcity and castigate so far - plus competition maps, I guess.

But that's what made HL2DM so unique!
I think killing
someone with an old toilet is much more interesting than shooting
someone with an AK47/Sten/BFG.Posted by Myrk- on Sun Jan 22nd at 2:22pm 2006
