a guy at my school wants a program to record a flight in a flight simulator game, and he asked me to find one for him, so what would probably be the best program to get

Fraps or HyperCam are the only ones I can think of.

But what in the world does he want to do with the recording?

Well, in flightsimulator 2004 and earlier version you can save your flight as a video se you can record it later and take multiple shots from the same scene, the only negative side to this is that the view changes will be lost.

Recording would be with gamecam or fraps.

Dont forget to save the fligh video before you actualy begin to fly.

Not sure what simulator you are actualy using, could very well be fly or xplane.
