So I get this today around 3pm:

? quote:
From: ohoxcxv@jockey.com
sub: e-fax

second spell hear
With spend fly
Not learn cancel
do say see
hour rain change
Of turnoff spell
i fit borrow
With buy work
in live take
his close allow
was try stand

Then around 11pm I get this:

? quote:
sub: hey

don't eat worry
home send comb
so smoke need
For sit wakeup
you do complain
Of give sign
He reply talk
right smoke run
minute go need
place listen find
And translate understand

I have no idea what to make of this, it seems like something is "hijacking" web sites and e-mailing me these... things. Anyone seen anything like this before or want to try and crack this code?

Theyre lists of nonsensical haikus, obviously.

Second spell hear with
Spend fly not learn cancel do
Say see hour rain change.

Deep.

I've been getting weird s**t like that too, but for the most part it's only a few words. I've no Idea what to make of it. What's the point of meaningless spam?

Here's one... it had some comercial stuff in it at the end though, so I'm pretty sure this was just supposed to get it past my spam filters:

The jibberish is meant to mask key words from blocked/junk mail filters I believe. Usually within the text there is a link to on-line meds or other such nonsense or a file such as a virus containing add-ware .

They may not necessarily be hijacking the sites, as it's pretty easy to do a surface-spoof of the sending email address. If you want to really find out where the things are coming from, check out the full header information (if your client allows this), and you should be able to trace it back to where it actually originated from.

Occasionally I'll read through some spams, as some of them tend to have jokes at the bottom of them. Makes me laugh.

Actually, all my spam is advertising pirate software (which is why the SPA is in my Favorites) and insanely cheap Viagra that "gives you 2" pens!". (I'm not sure who to report this too, but it made me laugh).

I once got a spam which contained gibberish to try and get past the GMail spam filter (and failed), and worryingly contained the following:

"Anything to do with China is on fire".

That's just plain rude.

Lol, funny- I'm suprised no one here has guessed yet.

The email is either a tracker, or contains a tiny blank image that is the tracker. By opening the email the sender knows your email is active (the image loads or whatever) and then they know to send more spam. Education people!
