I'll only go out my way to watch the football and rugby world cups, and other smaller competitions. Athletics is a bit dull really!

I prefer the Winter Events, but will watch them all given time.
When I was a kid, the 1976 Olympics were being held. I had an incredible crush on Nadia
I would have sold my soul back then.
Anyway, Gymnastics is my preferred event, followed closely by all the ice events, then the snow events.
I voted "Winter"

Although I am fairly open minded where the Olympics are concerned, meaning I only root for who is best, not which country is but some events do not belong in the Olympic games and ping pong is most definitely one.
I like watching it played, but its definitely not Olympic level sporting.

Difficulty factor doesn't guarantee Olympic status Wilson.
I just feel that the Olympics has mostly gone to s**t because they are to open to allowing new events.
If this doesn't stop, we'll have Olympic checkers and badminton soon. ![]()
Call me traditionalistic. You'll be less surprised that way. " SRC="images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif">

It is fun and Master Gollum is an instructor in the fine sport but its hardly Olympic level eventing.
I truly fear that before long it will be open season eventing. There will be Marbles for the kindergarten ages and circle jerks for the truly adventurous.
I am not sure exactly what I feel belongs and what isn't but some events should be obvious.

Table tennis and badminton are both very vigorous and exhausting sports. TT might not be as tiring as, say, the 100m sprint, but the skill involved in playing against a master is something you cannot comprehend unless you play it.

So, you are saying that Physically demanding is the deciding factor in your opinion?
What about sports that are traditionally Olympic events that are not?
Now, I have not seen the list of accepted events in a very long time but I heard that Bowling and billiards are now events.
Where is the line drawn? What about marathon sex? Very demanding I assure you.
