? quoting Andrei
I thought pool wasn't considered a sport, just a game.

I consider badminton a game. Your point?

Is a game not a sport?

*shrugs*

I seriously don't know.

Can't say it does - it's an obvious thing to do and personally I thought the governing body was doing it.

I tend to always root for the underdogs in any event but when the occasional true shining star is present, you cannot help but admire them. I have never rooted for the United States just because I live here either. I think the best should always win no matter the land of origin. I do not mind all the medal counting, I do however despise politics when it interrupts the fluidity of the games. I watched to many events as a child where the gold went to the most politically unstable at the time.

Canada blows in the olympics, it's pretty sad.

I saw Shawn White do his snowboarding in the pipe the other day, that kid's a god.

i couldn't help laughing at the name of one of the female speed skaters; Manli Wang. the commentator was doing a good job of saying it as often as possible, without laughing. it probably means something pretty in whatever language it's from, but to me, it sounded more like something to fear in the prison showers.

arm wrestling would be a good addition to the games, and maybe fishing.

Manli Wang, eh? I once met a Vietnamese (methinks) girl called Nam-Su-Tien. "N-am sutien" (pronounced the same way as Nam-Su-Tien) means "(I'm) Not wearing a bra" in romanian. I was biting the interior of my cheeks, desperately trying not to laugh out loud.

I thought that this year the Olympics would be dumb and that I wouldn't watch them. But now, I've changed my opinion.

I ended up watching the last week-and-a-half of the games and I gotta tell you, I LOVE the olympics. And it's not just the hot figure skating girls, I just like the olympics and I ended up watching almost EVERY event every day.

I'm sad to see that they're over.
