Well while we're waiting, I, for one, am wondering why you're being so generous.

Is it because you're a really nice guy, or do you have world domination at the heart of your motives? Was your father's last dying wish that you start a server dedicated to HL2 files? Is this a way to get rid of excess cash(as a business expense), rather than forking it over in taxes?

More speculation to come, stay tuned.

I know its dead easy but I want it a bit customized, the bit he was stuck on is the progress bar.

And, well, its a long story, I cant tell you why I am doing this exacly, but part of the reson is a vandeta against file planet for making me wait up to 40 minutes for files that I could have downloaded elseware, I know a lot of other people are disapointed in the amount of windows, ads and links you have to go through, not to mention the waiting times at peak hours, so I want to make something that makes my site better than File Planet.

And the only way I can see of doing that (since they have much more files than I could gather myself) is by making a better service.

well , i suppose when i finish T:PV i'll share the hosting with ye ^___^.

*progress bars are REALALLY hard to do , has yet to see a file uploading site have that* , skip that for now.. try getting the user interface first..

I didn't read the whole thread yet, and I know I haven't been posting a lot, AND that me and Orpheus have our disagreements from time to time but man poisinic you really need to shut the f**k up...

Yes I offered to give him some cash but he does not have PayPal and I cant be bothered to arrange a bank transfer.

This will cost me, if I cant find a scripter about 200 dollars, if I can find one then only about 50-70 dollars a month depending on how often I have to upgrade the server.

As for a progress bar, there's a really simple one used at http://www.web2ftp.com, where they use text (==>-------- for example). Maybe you could contact them and ask them.

Sometimes I think that Snarkpit is a modern day Noah's Ark. We get the dumbs**ts in pairs like, someone is sending them to us.

We do weeks, or even months then all of a sudden there is a thread where a pair of .. Well, it has been a while, I reckon we were due.

Seriously, let's quit bickering and get on with finding this coder. I have a very basic knowledge of PHP and MySql (you can see what I've done here), but I've no time whatsoever and my knowledge is too basic for this sort of thing.

I'm not really sure who you'd ask. If you've enough time, I'd recommend learning some PHP yourself - there are some excellent tutorials over on spoono.com, but of course, you might not want to have to learn an entire web scripting/programming language just to launch a site...

As for poisonic's challenge, I have no idea where you live I'm afraid. <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif"> Narrow it down a bit for us - Southern or Northern hemisphere?

Lemme explain something about insults. They only have an impact if there is a commonality between the two involved.

Me, I don't go into most children's games so, your comment although intended to be hurtful makes me giggle.

Mine, you understood it because its on a level your brain can grasp. You are insulted.

Now, which of us got the better satisfaction?

On a personal note. I very rarely heed advice that is contrary to my intent. My intention is to cause you grief until I am satisfied that you are not going to be a prick again. Until I see that this adventure has made an impact upon you I will more than likely continue to periodically harass you.

My little comments are mostly general, such as they are. The Noah's ark comment was in fact general, and specifically pointed at the rest of the Snarkpit. The fact that it was about you, was a secondary concern.

In fact, you are generally a secondary concern.
