I've opened one before to find out. I guess the ring pairs are split into 2 sets. The right and left. Each on their own piece of metal. The two flaps you push down pushes up between the two peices and makes it like ^ instead ofa flat --.

Okay, nest question.

You know in a 3-ring binder, how you push those two flaps down and the rings open...

How the hell does that work?

OMG! how DOES that work? I can't figure it out!!! I'm serious, I can't.

Here's another question:
In the northern hemisphere, we get the summer off from school, and we get the christmas season off too; In Australia, Christmas is IN the summer, so do they get a winter break during the time that is actually MY summer? If so, what's the reason?

Australian schools usually have a long summer break (a couple of months), with three two-week breaks evenly spaced through the year (between terms of about 10 weeks each). It varies between states.

My university has a long summer break (3 months), a longish winter break (6 weeks) between semesters, and mid-semester breaks of 2 weeks. The reason for this is that uni students are lazy bums who wouldnt do any work during that time anyway.

I wish I got that kind of time off.

The whole at least 2 weeks between terms sounds really nice. I'm also lucky to get a four week winter break.

It's just my school though, Morphine's school has breaks up the ass. THAT'S NOT FAIR, YOU BASTARD!

Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

Hahah.

I start school September 1st. I get a 4 day weekend sometime in late October. Then I get a week off for Thanksgiving break. Then I get off school from around December 18th to January 3rd. Then I get a break between Feb 1 and Feb 13. Then we have spring break March 17 to March 27. Last exam is May 23.

Q: One of the mysteries of the universe...

How do you ask a girl out and then make it so she doesnt tell everyone if she says no. I mean, I'm not afraid of getting rejected, but I don't want her telling everyone about it... The people that she'd tell would in turn, tell the BIGGEST gossips in the world, and my private life would be all over the world in ten minutes. So... how?

If she rejects you, kill her. If people ask what happened (which they will), say she asked you out, you rejected HER, and she couldn't handle the heartache. Simple!

That's pretty, good... but I wouldn't ask her to be my woman if'n i didn't love her. It's a weird situation, you'd have to be a part of the Russian Church to understand...

there is a concave strip of metal that runs down the inside of the metal tube that holds the rings. When you press the two buttons it bends the metal out and opens the rings.

I think you'd have to be a Russian to be part of the Russian Church, but I guess I'd have to be part of the Russian Church to understand that too, eh? The moral of the story is, love sucks. If you love her enough that you're willing to ask her out, you should love enough to let her "reveal your private life." It's not like your private life revolves around killing hookers or raping schoolschildren or embezzling money or... things of that nature. So just go for it or don't, but if you don't, don't whine about wanting to. :P

Yeah, I suppose you're BOTH right. If I do care about her enough to press the concave strip of metal, It's okay to reveal the Three Rings. And i was not whining, don't make me kill you when we go to the Vancouver olympics...

No but seriously, I've asked out more girls that I could count and all the ones since 8th grade have turned out to be O-K. lol So why am I so aprehensive about this one? I't a different environment than I am used to. I'm just gonna ask and be like "so yes or no, or just whatever, call me." and she'll be like "He's so cool that he doesn't even care, i love him!"

Seconded! Do you really want to be with a gossip-machine? She'll nag you to death when she's older. :P

SHE'S not the blabbersnoot, her stupid friends are. Many of them are not even allowed to watch TV, so they get SO bored that they talk about ME... I can't imagine being so bored.

I understand telling your friends stuff, but i don't see why you have to tell everyone else what your friends tell you.

Ephesians 5:22 says "Wives, submit to your husbands in everything." If i hit her with THAT little gem she'll not nag. lol

Well -- I guess you have to ask yourself, is this girl worth the annoying company she keeps? If so, then say to hell with what her friends think and say, and just go for the girl.

You could always squeeze in some subtle hints that you don't want other people to know what's going on between the two of you. Like telling her about a friend of your's whose reputation was blasted to bits by his loud-mouthed girlfriend who blabbed too much and was ultimatley butchered [the girl] by mafia hitmen hired by the before mentioned guy. Or something along those lines.

yeah, She's worth a lot. I'll just talk to her. The reason this is even a risk is because it's so hard to tell what she is thinking.

Oh, i forgot to mention that I ALSO have to ask her parents. Any suggestions? Besides using REALLY nice formal Russian and being all nice and stuff?
