the internet didn't exist? What would you be doing with your life right now? How would things be different for you?

I had fun before the net I just switched the fun to the net.

My passion is still reading. I spend far more time doing that to this day. If books were missing now, that would be a problem.

You could have posted this in my questions thread. <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

I would know Latin, Greek, and French by now, and still occassionally play Descent on a never-updated Windows 95.
And I would read more.

Without the internet, I don't think I would have the career I have today. I would most probably be living in a trailer park in south Louisiana, beating my dog, neutering my wife, and trying to put my 16 screaming kids up for adoption

I'd do a lot more snowboading and ice skating, and would probably still be skateboarding/rollerblading. I don't know (and can't be bothered to think of) the repurcusions the lack of the internet would have had on the games industry, so I've no idea if I'd still be interested in game development as a career.

Lol same here. There would be a lot more I'd be ignorant of. I wouldn't ever mapped, or gotten back into art. I would've never thought I could have the chance to work in the game design industry. There are a lot of people I would've never met either. Of course without the internet I could still be making strait As in school instead of Ds. But that's probably more of my own fault, since I'm really bad when it comes to procrastination.

All in all though I'm quite thankful to be born in the age of technology that I we are living in.

No Internet = no mapping really.

I made maps before the internet. I made better maps after the net but, There were better mapping engines by then.

I'd be having fun a different way if it wasn't for the net is the only difference I imagine.

If the internet did not exist, I would:

  1. Still read a crapload
  2. get better grades in college
  3. no know the crapload of cool ppl from all over the world that I know now
  4. not know NEAR as much as I do now about everything.

I tried sniffing coke, but the ice cubes kept getting stuck in my nose.

Good answers Nickelbag.

I think the most important thing I have learned since my advent unto the net is. There are so many interesting people in the world. The second most interesting thing I have learned is, if world leaders had to solve problems like we are forced to do online, there would be more peace. I have had some super serious flames and almost always came away with a friend when it was done.

Friendships online, tend to last longer to in my experience.
