When I was a kid my family had a neighbor with very similar symptoms. She was convinced that my dad was using our computer to interfere with her (cable) television reception.... I can only assume she lacked the intelligence to come up with more sophisticated or sinister theories. However, that was just what she accused him of. There was no web log involved, so I've no idea what all went on in her head. She also once accused my brothers and I of filling our squirt guns with bleach and destroying the paint job on her husbands car. However, the really creepy part was that she would stand on our driveway at night and stare at us though the windows, particularly at my dad when he was at work on the computer. In the day, she was continually watching out her windows, and several times when she saw my parents leave, she came over and started screaming at us kids... f**king scary when you're only eight years old!

Still, our house never burned down, and I think she was relatively harmless. Sounds to me like this neighbor of yours is decidedly more dangerous.

? quoting DrGlass
is this even remotely possible and do you think people would really want to do this to her?

I read that crazy article on (electronic weapons), and that's exactly what it is. crazy. Work has been done on microwave and sonic weapons, but the sort of power she is ascribing to them is ludicrous. As far as I know, all sonic weapons work has been aimed at non-lethal devices, and if you were to kill someone with that type of thing it would be really obvious that something horrible had happened to them. Think cooked flesh and widespread cell rupture.

I heard/read that they do indeed have sonic weaponry designed specifically to destroy mineral deposits... Namely Kidney and Bladder stones.

I know thats not a true weapon but, only in scope and.. objective.

Remember, The inventor/discoverer of Fusion, didn't foresee it as a bomb.

well, i have seen a seagull fly into a navy shipboard ESM microwave antenna, and they do explode when they are transmitting....so, knowing what i know of the us government, they are/have taken that course as far as they can, for whatever purposes they can extract.....guaranteed. it IS possible, but not plausible....

Doc B...

i just wonder how you hide your antennas Doc G...

My point is not that it's impossible, merely that it would be obvious (exploding seagull), and probably very cumbersome since you've got to have an energy source for such a weapon...

I've heard the US army has a "pain ray" microwave weapon in the prototype stage, it causes a tingling burning sensation and is intended for crowd control. From what I understand, its a fairly large weapon, probably to be mounted on a humvee.

On what Doc B said, I heard that russian MiG-25 pilots used to help poor farmers by flying low over their farms (~200ft) and putting their radar on full combat power. This would kill all the rabbits underneath the flight path.

Also, this woman is nuts. The only reason the US government would want to take over her brain and/or kill her is if they got her confused with Michael Moore :P

I think that's an old joke aimed at the fact that the soviets, especially during the seventies, exposed military and civilian personnel working in government installations to powerful electro-magnetic waves generated by special devices, in an attempt to prevent foreign intelligence agents from listening-in on communications. Another so-called "confirmed" rumor said that if you were to open the decryption chamber of a soviet embassy all TV sets withing a 20 km radius would blow-up.

The only electronic weapons I can think of are the ones designed to destroy aircraft circuitry and such. They're definitely not lethal to living things.
