What do you think of the idea?

I figure that I will be away for almost 4 days on this run. That should be ample time for everyone to decide if its doable or not.

The way I see it, those that think it a bad idea, simply won't participate. Those that do, but have reservations about posting it publicly, well we can just post it via the Pm's.

I figure, anyone who participates can post here, and the rest of us can shoot them a message with the link.

Anyway, while I am away you will need to decide on "What to say" and "If you wanna say it"

Carry on gents.

(please post if you are a yes vote)

I voted 1, only so I can shatter some illusions about what a "British" accent sounds like <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_wink.gif">

/me voted "1" also, but.. I couldn't say so until someone else had posted.

Silly Snarkpit won't allow double posting. (or its not supposed to)

As for shattering any illusions, I think its a disillusion to think that it can be done. <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/heee.gif">

bwahahaha...

Seriously, I am still giggling.

As far as accents go, I have heard perhaps a couple dozen distinct ones but the only one I like, is northern New England. The accent from a person from Maine is great. The accent from Cajun Louisiana is a close second.

Georgia and Kentucky are about the worse, followed closely by Tennessee and Arkansas. Try living here most of your life and hating listening to the locals.

I do however find the British accents most humorous. <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/rofl.gif">

Gwilly, I can't wait to hear your accent. Northerners sound odd.

I voted 1 because I like accents and languages.

Not only should we have a sentence to be pronounced in english, but it should be translated into the users native langage(s) too.

Hell, we have a gosh honest Peruvian, I can just imagine some Inca or Mayan or whatever those purdy natives were down yonder.

  1. peruvians were Incas
  2. I know enough about indo-european languages to tell if someone is translating the sentence.
  3. Missouri folk do NOT suck mule dung. We eat it with a knife and fork like EVERYONE else.

They may not but, I have seen several hundred of those black buggies roaming about and I bet you they suck horse flatulence more than fresh air. <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_lol.gif">

I like this idea. I don't think it matters that I won't be able to understand what they're actually saying... just hearing different languages will be fun, and my respect for all you bi/tri/quadlingual people will increase!

Heh.. I'm from fairly deep Cajun Louisiana territory. Sadly, I've moved so much that my accent isn't strong.

I gave a good vote for 1 because umm, audio. Good stuff. I'll have to figure out how to strip audio from video since the only mic I have is in my camera. Decent enough quality, at least for this.

Hugh, you cannot get a 3 dollar mic someplace?

Hell, adapt a set of headphones from a walkman. <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif">

My camera has sound options. If you sort it out, gimme a yell. I am curious.
