WAD authoring anyone?

I FELT THIS THREAD BELONGED IN GENERAL BANTER BECAUSE THERE ARENT ANY OPTIONS TO UPLOAD DOOM MAPS TO THE PIT AND THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A FAIRLY OPEN DISCUSION. (sorry for shouting, and appologies if the thread wound up in the wrong spot)

After being so infuriated by the csneo thread (laf), I couldn't get myself to work any more, so I decided to see if there were any pitters here who do any WAD authoring. I'm currently working on my first, un-released, but it contains new sprites, textures, (not flats) a dehacked patch, new monsters*, and so forth. 8 map series ATM.

*technically, the only "new" monster is the rocket grunt, the rest are just sprite replacements with slight tweaks, and sound changes.

Post your WAD screens! Dm, ctf, and co-op and any other sort for any port!

And here's after I got the DEHACKED patch in (notice the new Trooper's and Saregents). The following maps are MAP02, MAP03, and MAP08. The difficulties are varying from Easy to Ultra Violence.

So, anyone else here do any WAD authoring?

Never noticed Doom's similarities... The map look like CAD floorplans, the skyboxes are like Quake 4, and the rest just looks like HL1 on fullbright.

Looks to be quite interesting, but I like my details.

Don't think it could do it myself, but if you have fun with it thats all that matters <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif"> I'm not much a Doom fan - never was to be honest - so I'm not much of an audience for this kind of work I'm afraid. Looks like you have made some pretty cool things for the limited engine though - far more detailed and imaginative than plenty of HL maps I've seen in my days <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif"> So is this just the next step after your Doom inspired sven maps?

I don't get it. Is that Doom? Or an "advanced" version of Doom? The textures look too sharp for original Doom though...

I'm actually about to wind up with a Gothic 99 (a WAD notorious for being over-detailed) WAD if I don't watch it <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/heee.gif">

It's a wad for ZDaemon, which uses the ZDoom source port as its engine <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif"> My res is cranked up a bit, so that probably is why the textures may be a bit funky.

Whats ever better is to think of how far we will go 5 years from now.

I haven't mapped for DooM in what must be at least 5 years. DooM is a really old game.
