Eh, whatever. The names of consoles don't bother me.

It would never sell Forceman. 1st off, it wouldn't be politically correct as it would cut out a rather large portion of the gamers who are vaginally impaired. Secondly, the female population couldn't tolerate a vagina, thats played with more often than theirs.

I think "Wii" reminds me too much of WII (World War Two)

Honestly, if Nintendo delivers what they say they will I really don't care what it's called. It could be called Nintendo Analubtion, I wouldn't really care.
And to be honest, Wii, as crappy of a name as it may be might just be the most original name big N has come up with.
I think Sega always had the awesome names anyway. (Genesis, Master System, MSX - wish this was released in the US, DreamCast, Saturn, GameGear ... awesome)

Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

Hmm I don't think it's that bad. Xbox might be the dullest name ever for console. Playstation sounds like a 70ies mainframe terminal. Wii can compete with that at least it sounds like something new. I wish they kept revolution, though.

Revolution sounded darn clich?. Hell, why not call it 'Terminator' or 'Annihilator'.
Wii sounds fun.

Because Terminator and Annihilator have exceedingly violent connotations that don't fit with the Nintendo ethos. That, and they don't suggest anything about the product. Revolution was a great fit for what the system is about - making big changes in the way we play games.

I liked the name Revolution. Wii works too though. As they say: "Any publicity is good publicity." I doubt many people are going to hinge their console purchasing decision on the name, and now it's being talked about again.... I'm not saying this was a marketing ploy to keep people from forgetting about Nintendo's next-gen console, just that it has had that effect

I agree Baron. If the games are there I wouldn't care too much about the name. Unless it was Nintendo Dildo.
Well, that kinda rhymes.

Oh, and I dont mind the name Wii. Sounds like 'Weeeeee!' as in happyness and excitement. Also, the amount of publicity from people discussing the name has pretty much the entire world aware of Nintindo's new release. Clever publicity.
Hahaha! Im using the INTERNET!
