Remember that discussion about Planetside going free like Anarchy, but delayed for several months. Well Planetside finnaly went free, and they're being very descrete about it. The trial that ends March17, 2007 is called "The Reserves". So to joithe free game , on the main site click "Joint the Reserves".

At first it sounded like a 14 day trial, which dicourages many people, but further reading of the fine print confirms that this is indeed the promised free subscription for a year. Enjoy

This has been going for a while right? I did it about a month ago, and indeed it is free and you can play the whole game, but it isn't really a free subscription for a year. It imposes extremely heavy level limits - you can't get higher than battle rank 5 or something, which basically restricts you to fairly low level weapons and vehicles. Your command rank is also highly capped, meaning you can't become more important than a squad leader really.

Still cool, but it isn't like the whole game is really now free unfortunately. Unless things have changed since I last played a few weeks ago anyway <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

Once again, I'm the last one to the plate. I guess that's what I get for missing alot of the discussions going on.

It was only briefly mentioned in the recently played thread or something - it wasn't much of a discussion to have missed <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

Does that mean I have to sent them my credit card information when registering a free account?
