- The PS3 will be $500-600, as most people were expecting I think.
- Sony have ripped off the Wii's gyroscopic controller - didn't see that coming!
- Final Fantasy XIII news with 3 different games in the universe - the main version, "Versus" version (?!) and mobile phone version. Apparently very sci-fi and very action packed this time around.
Check out the normal game sites for more info (1up, gamespot, ign, etc...).

I'm glad DS Lite will be making its way across seas!
Did Sony really announce that they're featuring a gyroscopic control? LAME.
I'm really looking forward to seeing some game-play for the Wii (Not used to it yet). I saw some screens a month or so ago. I'm not sure how official, but if they were ... they'll have no problem competing graphically. While, I know the machine doesn't have the same number crunching power, they're very smart developers. Is pre-rendering such a bad thing if you can't tell, for example. (I've still never understood why that was abandoned. It makes no sense. Making the number of polys you have to render lower is always a good thing, if you can get away with it, do it!)
An exciting time.
Every year, though, I'm hoping there's some game that looks absolutley stunning will pop out of nowhere.

But I'm so glad they ditched those other ones they were proposing. They sucked balls.
But, yeah... incredibly boring not much too it presentation by Sony.
EDIT: Here's some about the controller: http://images.sexiest100.org/elishacuthbert,2.jpg
Apparently there's no vibration in it. That's lame.

*sighs*
I get depressed reading these threads. There is either little or no excitement about new PC games, just those damned consoles.
I cannot help thinking that consoles are the gaming version of killboxes. ![]()

Anyways, it should be very interesting to see the news this year. Especially since Sony's PS3 will be so costly and yet their PS2 is so out dated, they won't beable to keep pumping out games co-operatively for the PS2 like Microsoft does for their X-Boxes.
Could this finally be the year Sony expects too much and nearly goes bankrupt? But seriously, Sony is too paranoid with the Wii and 360, and thus they're stucking the PS3 with everything; however, unlike Microsoft who can make up for the true price of an XBox with other Microsoft products. Imaging how much the 360 really costs, probably the same that Sony is proposing for the PS3.
Out of time, have finals todays, I'll continue latter. C-Ya

The PS3 controller doesn't have all the features of the Wii controller, so it's not a complete rip off or anything. The Wii controller not only knows the movement of the controller in relation to itself (as the PS3 does), but also in relation to the TV and where it is being pointed. Those extra features give it a lot more potential.

I never liked the Play Station, now I have two reasons more. Who's paying 600 dollars for a console anyway?

What I see is that ever since Microsoft came out with a console that rivaled the US console market hogging up sales, Sony has become paranoid in losing any control in the US market.? Look at the games available now, on the PS2; half are dumbed down puts of XBox games.
Like I said, Sony has become paranoid and thus are striving to create a console that is far Superior than anyother console entering the market. Thus, sony will be creating such a large technical gap between 3 and 2 that devs will be unable to co-operatively produce for both systems. High price range of the system will force many devs to think twice about using the PS3 medium, especially when developers could easily co-operativly produce for both the xbox and 360, for the cheap and high end market. Essentially, if Sony does not strive to create a cheaper version of the PS3, the console might have the chance of collapsing in the market.
It's just my opinion though.

I take it since all the replies thus far are about consoles that PC gaming is a bust this year?
*cries*
You know, with my luck had I chosen to go with the console as my favored game delivery system, PC's would have taken the high road. ![]()
I had consoles long before my 1st PC.

Will Wright's next big thing. This game will give the games industry a much-needed kick in the ass in terms of innovative gamedesign. I'm so looking forward to this game. Watch the video and you'll see what I mean. Wow...

Take out the "http://BR" part of that link, it goes to a site to book airfare.
I'm glad to hear that there will be a nice chunk of 3rd party support for Wii when it hits shelves. Final Fantasy (CC2?) and a Dragon Quest will be amongst them.

? quote:BioShock looks like it could be one of my next favourites, too. It's a sequel in a way to System Shock.

Thats a relief. I generally rely on you guys for most of my information and I was getting worried that only the consoles were going to be talked about.
I didn't know that the event proper hadn't begun as yet.
Snarkpit is my main source of news concerning game related subjects.
