I've been quite hooked to Dystopia lately, but this mod could also blow a hefty wind through the HL2 mod scene:
http://www.nuclear-dawn.net/index.php
Check their newest media release. That map looks s.h.a.r.p.
They also managed to do some very nice special effects work, check the blood splatter on the poor guy (http://www.nuclear-dawn.net/loadimage.php?img=gamemedia/ss/Alpha_test_021.jpg). Nice work, no ?
I'm not usually a mod pimper, but I thought I should let you guys know.

That looks so awesome man! Gotta check it out for sure, even though I'm not a multiplayer person.

Indeed, this mod looks quite beautiful and I've been following it for some time.
Off-Limits also looks quite nice.

That looks badass.
I'm still waiting for something that isn't in the same theme as HL2 though.
Nice to see some good FREE mods coming out.

Yup Ive been following thier progress as well - I really like the
implication of their game and I have a high anticipation for its
release.
Since were listing other mods here as well, ill get my advertisement in:
http://www.eternal-silence.net/
So far weve implamented space flight and the seemless transition from space ship hangar to the actual space flight area - you'll have to see it for yourself, but its still quite buggy. And there hasnt been much progress on the mapping fore-front (lack of artists im afraid
" SRC="images/smiles/sad.gif">) So if
you have any artistic talent (low need for hammer mappers) then drop us
a line on the forums

Why do the ND screenshots look crooked or skewed? It makes me
dizzy looking at them, even though the content is very very impressive.

That one with the nuke silo uses a fish-eye type effect, the centre of the lense would be focued on the sile opening. Looked wierd to me too, but kinda cool
" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">.
Pretty sweet looking mod, though I'm looking forward to someone creating a mod thats a little less generic (ie not just two sides battling it out over something, usually a post apocalyptic earth environment). Then again there aren't many options for multiplay. The level design looks great, its amazing how fresh and interesting they've made their large concrete bunkers look, I'm very impressed.

It looks nice - but then again so did Dystopia, before I played it and found it pretty boring. That's not to say Dystopia is terrible, it's just not my kind of thing, and I'm not sure if this mod will be my thing either.

I've been watching this one since the site opened. Looks very very
promising, but then again there are some names there that I've seen
along side with some quality HL1 content too...

V1 of dystopia will rock, CJ. Try it again when they release. It's my favorite HL2 MP mod, and in my opinion, the only one with a worthy release at this time.
Empires is buggy.
The Hidden is quite boring.

OOh, I was in that mod in the early stages, back when the basic models and concept art paintings were being completed.
