PS. Why does the post composer use a black font on a black background (in Firefox)?

Vitani, go to your control panel and in your options disable Java from the site. That way it'll show up right.

Does anyone here know how tutorials are "checked" thus verified they're ok and posted on the site? I understand why (could be spam, could be poorly done, etc..) but do the admins look them over, or a select few, or what? I submitted one a few days ago and although I don't mind that it's still not up it made me curious how this works. It also sparked a suggestion.. peer review?
What if users - with maybe a certain number of snarkmarks, or a certain number of tutorials submitted, etc. - could "check" tutorials to verify that they aren't spam? Maybe two or three votes could be required before making a decision about a tutorial, e.g. if a spammer makes his way in somehow and votes "yes" to have his tutorial - filled with spam links/ads - posted, three other snarkpit regulars would see that it was spam and reject it; likewise, nobody could reject a tutorial from a person they don't like for some reason, or just be malicious by rejecting every submitted tutorial.
It'd IMO give a better community-run feeling than having to wait for an admin to pop in. I'm quite sure that a lot of people around here would be glad to check over tutorials in order to get them posted quicker.
Just a suggestion/comment.. not sure how it would work, but I like the idea.

As far as I know, admins have to approve tutorials before they get put up.
And while I like your idea, the site owner and creator, Leperous, hasn't been around in quite some time, so new features or changes to the site can't get done. It kind of sucks, I know.
I hope he comes back eventually... unlikely as that sounds. Additionally, there's a site suggestions/bugs thread stickied at the top. Although for aforementioned reasons, it's not of much use these days.

There's no reason for Lep to come back. Mapping is dead. Modding is dead. The FPS genre is dead. Computer gaming is dead.

Actually for the most part, this is true... With the advent of the new "stupider" children, consoles have risen in popularity. Probably in part, because "homework" is done on computers, and they "didn't know you could put games on 'em." It's also possible that there really is no advertising base for PC games anymore now that every company makes a console.
The FPS sadly died with the bringing forth of MMORPGs and broadband.
Yak_Fighter. I'm sad to say it this time... You're right.
We just need to make kids that are not stupid consumer-media-whores...

Eh, I disagree. PC Gaming isn't dead, and consoles aren't more popular.
In fact, the world?s most popular game machine is the personal computer.

"In fact, the world?s most popular game machine is the personal computer."
Do they mean that more people play games on computers than consoles, or are they just stating the obvious - there are more personal computers than consoles in the world, and since you can play games on a PC, by definition they are the most popular game machine (regardless of whether people use them for games).
