One of the best movies I've seen in a long long time, I really seemed like there was a world beyond the characters, that they were just a small part of. The continuous shots were done very well, the one near then end damn near blew my mind. The story does an excellent job of conveying 'you don't know what you've got till you lose it'. This movie is also among the few to have visual effects that are truly 'special', the first time I watched it the effects never drew any attention as being out of place or over the top, they were gritty, brutal, ugly and beautiful. I couldn't really find anything wrong with this film after watching it three times.
I don't see much of any similarity to Blade Runner though, don't know where the critics got that besides the fact that it's based in a dystopian future, and it's an awesome movie.

Mr Beans Holiday was a huge disappointment, I think.

I've been watching this in a not-so-sober state yesterday and it's trippiest thing I've seen since Yellow Submarine. Great!

Misery - Good and quite scary and disturbing movie based on the novel by Stephen King. 4/5.
Shinobi - Great Japanese movie about the shinobi. Had some great things about it, for example there could be long fights without any music at all, which is unusual and fresh. 4/5.

I gotta watch "Smokin Aces", seems cool.
I watched The Shining (1980) by Kubric (sp?) yesterday, and it was nice. However, I didn't think it was that great, or scary for that matter. Could be because I was interrupted a couple of times, and the movie started to mess up about half way through, so I had to restart my comp and get angry. 3/5.

I've recently seen:
The Shawshank Redemption (1994) - based on a Stephen King novel. Very inspiring movie about never giving up. 4/5.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975) - another very good, thought provoking movie. Jack Nicholson's performance is incredible, he even got an Oscar for it. I think everyone should see this one. 4/5.
Btw, when I'm ranking the movies I've seen it's based on personal taste and how I felt when watching them. I know many movies, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest for example, deserve 5/5. That's why I might rate top movies a bit lower and an occasional not-so-good movie better than what it's generally considered to deserve, so to speak.
Right now, I'm picking movies from IMDB top 250 that look interesting and watching them. I've watched too many crap movies, always saving the good ones for later. Well, now is the time for those.
