I still don't understand how to play Go for the most part. I've played it before but it's such a complex an open game. Partially because it ends when the players agree that it ends.
Also, while studying AI, I found a sort of higher appreciation for Chess. I'm not good at it by any means, but it's a much more engaging game than Go for the very fact that there are ways to annihilate the other person without them seeing it coming. Which is very difficult to do in Go.

I've never played Go, but I've played Othello. Chess is my favorite, though.

Used to love Pente.
Never thought of it before now, but Bejeweled and some of those other matching games are probably inspired by it.

I've never heard of Go, but chess is a great game, if you can find an opponent that's about as good at it as you are.

Go is pretty popular in Japan, right? Think there's a popular anime about it... I tried to learn it once, reading rules ect on the net, but never really understood it. Chess is also fun.
Other than that I mostly play micro stakes no limit hold'em poker online, but I guess that doesn't qualify as an unusual game. Anyone else here playing/trying to play poker seriously?

I dearly love "Trivial Pursuit".. All versions.
Tis the only board game I currently have.
I am pretty good at Chess BTW, for anyone interested in starting a game.

I think we should attempt to find a free online chess game.
I found this one. If anyone finds another, please post it. Or try this one to see how well it is.

Go is my favorite board strategy game. Unfortunately I dont know many other people that play, and there aren't good bots for Go like there are for chess. The best bots are about as good as someone who has only played for a couple months )-:.

If anyone made a good AI Go player, they'd be a millionaire in any denomination.
There are many other applications for the type of system in Go.

I've been playing lots of chess in college recently, found that I'm quite good (compared to my art student friends I mean). I'd love to play some online chess if anyone is intrested.
Stratego (sp?) is a really fun game. Its like chess but the identiy of all your pecies is hidden.
Never played Go, but wanted to learn after seeing "A beautiful Mind"
