Don't worry Reaper. You can defend all you wish with no complaints from moi.
I simply have no interest in it. Like I said, it saved my ass when I was on 56k. It has its perks but.. I'll stick with IE for my majority of uses.
Mark me though, something will replace FF eventually. Always seems to work that way in the end... And it will be peers who cause the change. Not product betterment.

Nothing replaced IE in almost a decade. And still hasn't. I'm happy with quality products actually having a chance to replace worse ones. The day FF will be replaced by something better I'm looking forward to do the switch.

I used to be a FF fanatic.. Until it started deleting my bookmarks every week or so. After numerous uninstallations / reinstallations i just said, "f**k it" and switched to Opera. It just seems secksier to me. I dont know why though. more sleek. and the download manager pwns hard.

I have a great download managaer extension, and about a hundred others. Firefox simply does what I want it a lot better than IE and that's why I use it. The security thing has never really been an issue for me 'cause I'm not stupid about what I visit.
I also just installed Google Desktop. If you've never seen it, check it out.

That bug was fixed ages ago, Multi. In fact, I believe FF now keeps like 2 or 3 periodic backups of them.
Orph, I find it sort of insulting you insinuate we only use FF because it's "in vogue" or something. I use it because from my experience I get a hell of a lot less s**t (read: nothing) on my PC with it, unlike IE. I also love tabs, and IE only just got/copied that feature. I tried it, and it won me over for very clear, logical reasons- not because it was somehow the "cool" thing to do.

Jinxy, you keep using it for the reasons you claim. I believe you. BUT something caused you to load it the first time and I doubt seriously it was your own experience with it.

lol, of course you need a reason to first download a program. I'm confused why this speaks against it? I've downloaded many programs because people recommended them but ended up deleting most of them out of disappointment.
PS: Opera's Tab feature pwns FF because tabs can be resized within a window. That's the only thing I miss in FF. If someone knows how to do it, btw, please tell me!

I use FF simply because of the plugins.
I couldn't do without them.

The only confusion is you being confused since no one has spoken against it.. At least I don't think anyone has.
In the end, does it really matter what I think? I have it installed just like you do. Does it matter that I use it less often?

I just don't understand the argumentation? Why do you compare FF with "the popular but not the best" maps and just being "vogue, with gamers at least" and "nothing more"... and then... say you never criticized FF's popularity...
It matters to me because I'd like to know whether I missed an interesting and complex conclusion I never understood or if you just denied what you said earlier? There are inconsistencies!
I don't like being confused about things like this. Quantum mechanics, OK, no problem that's supposed to be confusing. But right now I'm more confused about your answers than about Quantum mechanics and I think, "That's not right... There must be something I missed...".

The primary reason I don't use it is because I cannot get the spell checker to function correctly, and I cannot spell worth a s**t.
Funny that you only just notice my inconsistent posting patterns. You be slow Reaper.
Technically, I do not intend to post inconsistent, its just that I cannot always post an example that someone will understand. Then I post another, and it more/less works against the first reply... Even though in my mind they are one and the same type example.
*sighs*
I am dumb... Its a shortcoming I cannot seem to overcome.

LOL that is quite possibly the goofiest thing you've ever said, Orph!
I mean, are you saying you use IE because you had experience with it before you used it?! Next thing you know you'll be saying bears drive cars!
If you want to make that argument... EVERYONE tries IE because IT COMES WITH WINDOWS. What more of a possible advantage could it have over other browsers in terms people trying it?
Also, you are suggesting that because something is "popular" it is necessarily not as good, which is a total logical fallacy. It would be just as untrue for FF users to suggest that IE is worse because it's more popular, which we are not saying at all.
I've been using Firefox for a few years, another employee at MicroCenter mentioned it to me. That was cause to TRY it, but that has nothing to do with why I KEPT using it. I mean, I tried CS because it was popular and recommended... and I quit playing because it freaking sucks.
The only error I have on Snarkpit with FireFox is when I try to add an emoticon. No problems anywhere else, except for Windows update of course lol.

Hmm...
OK then.
So Orph has once again, made a point that no one seems to grasp, save himself.
Nothing new in that.
Actually, it will prolly be debated whether there was in fact a point at all next.
Nothing new in that either.
Life goes on in this grand place we collectively know as Snarkpit.

Oddly enough, your wish is my command.

Any reason for using IE before IE 7 can be overruled by these two words: "tabbed browsing".
With the dawn of IE 7, my reason for sticking with FF is because of something my Dad always tells me about new technology: don't be the first kid on the block to the get the new toy, wait until they work the kinks out.

IE Tab - an extension from Taiwan
Hehe, made in Taiwan...
I'll have to wait a bit to try it, I've too many tabs open right now I don't wanna lose, and I have to close/open firefox for the plugin to work. Guess I'll have to reinstall that session saver plugin for ff...

I have to switch between Internet, Network and Local Disks as well as FTP many many times during the day at work. IE6 lets me do all this very efficiently.
I don't like all the issues with FF. The Snarkpit doesn't even work with it.
IE7 is trash...
I have always used IE, and i love it. I have NEVER gotten spyware, adware or any viruses. I have never seen any of these security holes that all the noobs seem to be getting into.
When it gets to the point where things won't work with IE6 I guess I'll have to find something different. hopefully opera and/or FF will have better support.

Opera + windows = fastest rendering engine. Too bad opera is bloated with features and a*se to configure.
Firefox + linux = fast.
Firefox + windows = bit of a resource hog, but still good to work with.
IE7 = Where are all the buttons ffs ?
