pepper: Seems to be a TN panel in the L1919S. Having any of the issues I mentioned in my previous post? I suppose you don't, considering that you love them, hehe! <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

Here's a very useful site if you want to find out what panel type is in a certain model:

You know, the more I think about it, the more I am believing that to use hammer, it would be best to have a 4:3 ratio monitor.

I cannot imagine scrunching my view in the up and down way. A widescreen monitor would only help left/right.

If its not to much trouble, can some members post some screenshots of hammer on a widescreen please?

I'll say right now, that after I switched it was much better, but my old monitor had a max resolution of 1024 x 768 and the new one is 1680 x 1050.

But, this is what it looks like (It's a link):

I've received and installed my new monitor. Ordered it tuesday evening and had it by thursday evening. Cheers to the postal system!

Anyway, so far I'm happy with it. The differences between it and my old CRT are quite noticeable, much clearer and much better colors on the LCD. I do notice the banding problem, but it only seems to appear when viewing a black-white gradient. I can live with that. It's also much brighter than my CRT, which is nice.

That's all I can think about right now. I'll post some pics tomorrow or something.

And having two screens rock, I can tell you that.

How many of you actually use all 4 view ports? I'd rather have more working space in 2 view ports.

A lot of times I'll expand it to a single view to work, then ctrl + A to switch back to the normal viewing arrangement. So, using one view style opposed to another is really superfluous for me.

I just bought the same one as a secondary the other week. I have a 19" CRT as a main and that one for movies and anything else I feel like.

Here are some pics of my LCD, I thought I'd give google's picasa a try:

http://picasaweb.google.com/otzman/NewStuffForMyComp/

I've found one pixel that isn't working correctly. With a red background it's black, and with a white background it's light blue. I suppose it's a stuck red sub-pixel. However, it's barely noticable, so I think I'll be able to live with it. I'm gonna try the two different methods described in the following link:

http://www.wikihow.com/Fix-a-Stuck-Pixel-on-an-LCD-Monitor

First I'm going to try fixing it using the "Software Method", then I'll try the rubbing/massage technique. If you know of any other ways to fix a pixel that isn't working, let me know.
