So liek, two days ago I got HL2 (FINALLY) ^^
Now while I'm loving the single player game, I wanted to try out some of the maps here that I previously could just look at and sigh, thinking I could never play that.
So yeah.
Maps for me to download, suggestions?

Which game? HL2 (singleplayer), HL2DM (multiplayer), CSS, ect...
For Singleplayer start with Minerva. One of the best SP campaigns I ever played. Rock 24 is very impressive, too.
For HL2DM:
dm_hydro
dm_swamplight
dm_island17
dm_avalon
dm_torque
... for the beginning
(of course I wouldn't mind if you tried some of my own as well... )

I'd like to add NP Refinery by Keved to the HL2DM list.
Minerva is a top-notch SP mini-mod. (check out "Someplace Else" for HL1 as well)

I'm centering mainly around singleplayer HL2, but anything would be great. =]

The HL2 SP scene is a bit slow, but you should find a few gems, many of which call themselves "mods" although they're really just HL2 campaigns with a launcher.
Check out Das Roboss, another great one. Nightmare House has some nice ideas. Return of Resistance, another nice SP map. Basically, I just browsed through the Snarkpit's list of SP maps and picked a few I remembered.

Day Hard is more like a full-blown SP mod. One of my favorite. Basically a FPS parody with excellent ideas.

I can't find any download links to them here, but the CS:S to DM ports
of Office, Italy and Tides are good too.
I also love Slammer, Morbid, Lost Village, 7Hour, & Subculture.
CS:S>
Arctic Storm, Night Fever, Italy, Strata, Tides
Everyone's tastes my vary though.
