The purple text is easier on my eyes than the white. With this monitor at least.

I was using the black text on white scheme for a while. I still would if it didn't have little errors like text being displayed at white on white sometimes.

I like white text on black, imo it's easier for the eyes, but somehting like yellow on black, or light blue / green on black is way easier on the eyes as it has less of a contrast to eachother.

I noticed in the last Steam survey, that 90% of people are using 60 Hz for their monitors! If anyone feels like white spaces hurt the eyes a lot, try turning your monitor refresh rate up to 85 or 100 Hz. It's so much better.

Could it be that they're using LCDs where 60Hz is standard (I think)?

No point going above 60 on an LCD, the screen itself doesnt update that fast. CRTs are nasty old things.

I like white on black much more than black on white. Purple is not good. I think something like bluegreen might be nice, probably better than yellow or something.

I prefer white text on black but tan is also eye soothing.

Yea, LCDs are actually inferior too any good CRT. They're just flatter and more stylish. But I see people running 60Hz CRTs all the time. Just seeing the screen from the side is incredibly annoying. I didn't know my monitor could handle the 60+Hz but since I found out I find it unthinkable to work with anything less. It's so much more pleasant.

That tan is indeed pretty neat. Does your brain even register framerates above 60Hz?

I dunno what my brain does, but if my monitor is set to 60, my screen strobes ever so lightly.

I have to set it to 85 to even have a hope of reducing my head aches.

And yes, I do so like the tan color.

JG, the 60hertz refresh rate for eyeballs is more of a guideline than a rule.


Also change the texture of the dock. Docks are rarely tile. -Facepunch
