When I was younger I was on a medication that had the unfortunate side effect of occasionally giving me cluster headaches. Those were by far the worst pain I've ever felt, nothing else is in the same league.

On to my other three (that I can think of).

1) Due to genetics, the nerves in/around my mouth are cover quite a bit of surface area. One particular injection of anesthesia into the front roof of my mouth before getting some work done on one of my front teeth was particularly painful, I could actually feel the needle of the syringe pulling one of the nerves taut.

2) Last summer, I was an assistant counselor at a summer camp. One of my duties was to fill up water balloons with the other assistant counselors. One of whom brought a big slingshot that shoots water balloons. After watching some jackass episodes on another AC's video iPod, I got the brilliant idea to have the other AC's fire a water balloon at my chest. I was less than ten yards from the slingshot, and they were prepared to fire when I started thinking clearly. I didn't step down from the challenge, but I suddenly started feeling for my testicles, as the aim of the launcher was suspect. I quickly told the launcher to take his time. As you can probably guess, he didn't hit me in the chest, but lucky for my future children, he didn't hit me in the tenderest of areas. I did get hit in the stomach, though, and it knocked the wind right out of me. After going down to my knees, and cringing for a while, I got up and started showing off the red mark that was a good half square foot. There was a smaller (but still pretty big) bruise that lasted for a few weeks after the incident. Low Res Pic.

3) Until it rotted, my family used to have a tree house. That tree house had a zip line to provide fast access to the ground. Once when I was 10 or so, I took it upon myself to find out what it would feel like if I put my finger in between the rope of the zip line and the pulley that was hanging from that we rode down. So I did. The friction stripped the skin off my right index finger, exposing the gooey contents underneath. I didn't get down farther then the lower epidermis, but it hurt like something funny that hurts a lot. I spent the next two days with my hand in a container of lukewarm water, trying to keep it as stretched out as possible so it would heal properly.

Orpheus,

I read your first post and thank god I get to see my grandkids all the time after my dau's divorce. It has to be tough and I hope you get to see them soon.

My worst pain...which first... I guess my kidney stone would it I had it for 4 months before i passed it.

Second would be my crushed elbow which I had 2 surgeries to repair.

More than that though IMHO the pain of a loved one dying is the greatest pain anyone can suffer.

This aint a pain but its a weird thing that happenes. Sometimes when I sleep, I sleep on my arm. While I'm asleep, my circulation gets cut off in say my right arm. I than wake up and go to move my right arm, but I can't. I can't moveit, feel it its weird. I picked it up with my working arm and dropped it and it just, slummped down. It was loose, like there was no bone. I could of cut the arm of and not feel it. But the circulation comes back and it becomes moveable again.

But wait, hold the phones. Flynn. Woa. If I knew how to do that quoteing thing I would do it right now. But I don't. So moving on. Geez, It could get worse. It could be like "Whats the weirdest breakfest you've had in your life" or " Do you hate work? " or "What do you like better. Sports or Tv" They are all stupid. And dumb. However the most stupidest topic would be " Halo Sucks" or "101 things that makes HL2 own Halo". Ahhh the stupidyity. Now back to busness.

You forgot to do something. Something Very Crazy. You did not state a pain. Every one has either discussed a pain or entered a pain. And remember the most voted for pain will win a prize from me. More on that later. Just when you think this topic is dead, I will resserect it and It would be like good old times.

P.S All your pains are funny.

Well, to somewhat expand on my illness with mono it effects you for a basically random amount of time afterwards depending on the person. It causes and caused great fatigue for me for a few weeks/months leading up to the week that I was truly ill and in some ways it still persists as I can't always move that extra step that I used to in sports. Plus it was hard to get back into hockey because the illness can cause your spleen to swell and during contact sports it could rupture and potentially kill you.

So I wasn't allowed to even step on the ice for months after...that was extremely hard to deal with as that was the age where I really wanted to push hard to go up in leagues and push for junior and greater. That in itself is sort of a pain I guess.

Other sports related pains I endured were dislocating/fracturing my wrist in rugby and pretty well still playing within a few days afterwards as well as playing hockey, too.

Throwing a body-check in hockey once I hit a nerve in my shoulder and my entire arm fell asleep, I was pretty scared but luckily it slowly started having feeling again after about 15-20s. I've been lucky to not have been concussed or anything like that, but I have been on the giving end of a few brutal hits (nothing cheap but they unfortunately were unlucky).

There are also other things I've done when I was really young that I don't actually remember though, like stepping on a nail and it going through my shoe and foot when I was in Kindergarten, swallowing a penny and having it stick in my airway when I was 2 as well as falling and landing on my lower rib on some plastic toy when I was also 2 and altering how my rib grew as I got older so it now has a funky bend in it.

I recently remembered something that tops my list: Getting a bunch of dirt (grit, crushed leaves and twigs, not dust) blown into my left eye when I was about 9. I had to get it washed out over the course of a few hours, while I was wide awake and screaming, and had to wear an eye patch for two weeks. I thought I was gonna be blind in that eye, but it healed up fine. That is, however, the eye that has astigmatism and much worse vision overall, something like 20/110 compared to 20/60 in the right eye, that may or may not be related, but it doesn't make a whole lot of difference either way since that's just how it is.

To this day I can't stand getting eyedrops, my whole body jumps/starts/convulses involuntarily, last time I got my eyes checked I startled the poor nurse and she fell off her stool. <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

Here's a less intense pain, but a funny one.
Today I learned just how sharp a rabbit's toenails can become. I made the mistake of letting my sister's rabbit climb on me while I wasn't wearing a shirt. He jumped off and left three red lines on my stomach. One of which was actually bleeding for a little while.

I would lay my vengeance upon him, but he's just so darn cute!

? quoting Foxpup

Been hit there, it hurts yes but there are many pains worse.

I used to be a demolition specialist in the army. We were drilling holes in a roadway to blast it free for removal. The pneumatic drill we were using had an air valve that when pressed would blow the dust/debris out of the hole and keep it clean.

My partner was in control of said valve and forgot to warn me in ample time to turn my head.

I got so much shale dust in my eyes that closing the lids was not an option. I had to ride to the hospital with my eye wide open for nearly 2 hours.

That was a pain I'll never forget.
