Hi.

I'd like to post a news item about my single player episode for Half Life 1, Operation Nova, being released. Obviously I'd like to just put up something like that one entitled "dm_residential_b3 released!". The problem is I'm not really sure how to put thumbnails into the post and I don't want to submit something that's going to screw up.

Can anyone explain how to do this? Thanks.

If you go into your control panel, and then select the option to post front page news, you will get a screen where you can select the map that the news relates to. Now, if you have UPLOADED your screenshots to the website, rather than linked them, this will automatically place your thumbnails in the news post...I think image Unfortunately it seems you've linked to off-site screenshots, so you'll probably need to jump through an extra hoop.

The news posts allow you to use the same "BBCode" as forum posts, and on the news submission page you should see a yellow link to the BBCode FAQ popup that explains how to do things like thumbnails. You'll need to make your own thumbnail images and store them on your webspace along with the full images. You then use the BBCode to display the thumbnails and link them to the biggies.

Don't worry about screwing it up - when you post front page news it gets put in a list for me or the other admins to authorise, so it won't show up without me or somebody else checking it over to make sure it looks right image

The thumbnail for the first screenshot is exactly the same as the full size version (ie. it isn't really a thumbnail <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif">). Could you fix it? At the moment the first screenshot's thumbnail is too big to post on the front page. Sorry <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/sad.gif">

Oops. I just checked it out and yeah, you're right. I've changed it now.
