I don't know how many of you fellows know about this, but as of January 1 Orpheus has 'retired' from HL1 mapping and editing. I doubt he'll be showing up here often, considering he hasn't been around since like the 17th of December yet has posted recently at Prefabland (ps: not a stalker
).
Anyways, he gave me the last compiled version of the map and the .map and .rmf files. I can't check how the compiled map looks until I get back to college (stupid online-required Steam), but based on the last version I saw I'm going to assume the weapon placement, player starts, and various other things still need work. I'm completely willing to pick up where he left off and work on that stuff, my only problem being I have no way of compiling it. So if I were to continue on I would need someone who can and will compile this thing.
The question of the hour is whether or not I should work on improving it or just cut our losses and release the map as is. I'm of the opinion that since so much work by the community has been put into it releasing it now would be a disservice, but if everyone else wants to wash their hands of it I will be willing to let it go.
I don't want to give an address for the map since I don't want the .rmfs given out to the public, but if there is demand I will.
This sucks for many reasons... ![]()
