Hey guys,

Like anyone I've been super crazy about Crysis. A few days ago I installed the demo. I know I have a computer that meets the minimum specs but I still figured it'd run. Anyway when it first started it was all super black and stuff, at first I thought it was normal. That was until the cut scene really started, and everyone in it was a shadow person with a pair of floating eyeballs. A bit surprising, I was getting pretty good frame rates.. but that may be because of this error.

Anyway I heard that the new nividia 169.09 BETA drivers had new support and were recommended for Crysis. I thought that'd solve my problem. I must admit I get pretty jumpy when doing any major changes to my system. I started the installer for them and a message came up saying "these drivers have not passed windows licencing and could possibly damage or destablize your system" or some junk like that. So yea, that freaked me out enough to forget about installing them, I went back and installed my old drivers.

I wanted to know from you guys what I should do. It's gonna be a long time before I can upgrade my computer again and I really want to experience this game everyone's been talking about. <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/sad.gif"> Would you guys install the drivers? Do you even think it'd help?

Yeah, install the drivers. Whats the worst that could happen? You have to reformat your machine, thats the worst.

I've gotten the same or similar messages lots of times when installing drivers for Windows XP, and nothing has happened, though I've heard some nightmare stories about what might happen if you install something incorrectly on Vista. If I were you I'd probably try the drivers out and hope Vista doesn't screw me. Where have you downloaded the drivers btw? If I'd gotten them directly from nVidia I'd feel safer about installing them.

Oh, you might wanna add which OS you're using.

good grief,....

'lo half-dude. I don't believe you'll find any beta drivers that don't get that same message. And rolling back your drivers is a little less fretsome than a re-format.

Then I'm pretty sure you should be safe installing them.

Just do it. You can always roll back the drivers.
