SOO.. Next month my neighbor and I are starting a new project. Codename: Bewbmobile Mk. II

My trusty '86 Camaro was due for a new engine soon, so whilst talking it over with my automobile-know-it-all neighbor, he suggested I ditch the Camaro for something a little less common; a Porsche 944:

Due to the wimpy 2.5 liter engines that 95% of these cars are stocked with, they're extremely cheap price-wise. Fortunately, the rest of the car (inside and out) is top-notch-Porsche. That said, it just needs a new engine. According to my neighbor, (and some additional research), Chevy smallblock engines (like the 305 in my Camaro) fit quite nicely in Porsche 944's!! Namely, a Chevy LT1 V8. =D The Porsche tranny doesn't even need to be replaced. This tiny car will ultimately be shelling out upwards of 320hp. Woot.

Anybody got engine-swap experience?

Wow, crazy how the difference is from country to country on engine size. In Europe 2500 cc would be considered quite big and would be heavily taxed to persuade people to get something smaller. You don't need a big engine to get power though, the group B rally cars of the 80s got something like 500 H.P. from an 1800 cc. Oh, and if you want "tiny", here are the small cars that you get in Europe, normally have 1 litre engines:

Ford Fiesta:

Vauxhall Corsa:

Toyota Agyo:

I would never have a car that small, but I do like small cars in general like Corolla, Focus, Vauxhall Astra etc, anything smaller than that is rediculous.
