Jim Carrey is an excellent character-actor. It's just that he's a very specialised character-actor: in every role, he does a wonderful job of being Jim Carrey

actually, iveseen him in two movies that i thought were worth serious recognition..."Bruce...", and a dramatic role (of which i believe hes only done one seriously dramatic role, correct me if im wrong) called "the majestic"....i guess our ideas of "good" and "character actor" differ greatly....

The Truman show was another non-comedy film he was in, and that was decent enough.

Me, myself and Irene is one of his better ones I thought.
