I have been wondering for a while now how big the mapping community is. I go on several different websites about mapping and keep seeing the same names popping up on lots of them. Really, how many mappers are there? How many of the different mappers are just the same people registered on different sites with different names?

Well, I know I am registered with a few mapping sites (Snarkpit, Mapcore, TWHL, Interlopers, FPSBanana) and I like to visit and post on those websites as much as I can!
How big is the mapping community? That's a hard one for me to answer but it is pretty darn big I would have to say. And that's not factoring in the people that actively map but don't really participate in forums and such, and those people do exist, nor is it factoring in people that used to actively map/post in mapping forums.

I am always Muhnay.. so if you see that on another mapping site, more than likely that is me. I am on FPSBANANA as well.

Mapping seems to be a rather big community.. not only HL mappers but other games as well. If it was not such a wanted feature, then game studios would not keep adding the ability to map for their game.. FarCry 2 even has a mapping tool built in with the game.
I have been mapping since DOOM, now there were some awesome tools.. a bit limiting, but with some features I wish Hammer had. You could only map on one plane though no over lapping.

Hey Muhnay, are you paying for your FPSBanana account? Because you have an avatar and I can't work out how to get myself one!

Yeah, it's a small world. All the reason more not to burn any bridges.

Ah, cheers mate. Don't know about you, but I find the FPSBanana layout really confusing

Dude, I hate their format, it SUCKS! It is very confusing, and you never know where to add your content. The PIT is a far better place.
