Okay, now how many of you watch TV or DVD's, or listen to the radio(not web radio) PC? How many of you have a CD player or MP3 player?

Honestly...time and effort could be spent towards something new.

Now for the real question, how many of you use Windows Media Player on a regular basis?(might want to read most of the article to understand why I'm asking this)

/me raises hand

I watch TV, DVD's, and play music on a PC (the wooden one, if you remember).

I think it's kinda useful, actually. [addsig]

I'm definatly looking forward to the day when all storage is solid-state, but I expect that this is a very premature offering. [addsig]

Same, but mine isn't wood. I use it for anything I can get it to do.

Edge I don't see why you are asking about media player? The article talks about media center, which is an operating system... I use my PC for DVDs and MP3 and the radio (the reception in my room is rubbish so streaming radio usually sounds better). There is a cable going from my room down to the lounge so we can watch things on a proper TV to. I have a CD player but not an MP3 player, but how is that relevant? The article starts "It is the question that has been bugging people who use multimedia PCs as the heart of their home entertainment systems". It is not claiming to be something everybody should use, but I think media center PCs will get more popular as they can be so versatile. Don't you see any advantage in having a PC that turns on quickly like a DVD player or AV receiver?
