Ok, as long as we do it like this:

One guy starts off with 3 words, example: Once upon a...

A second continues his post like this: Once upon a time there was... The next guy goes: Once upon a time there was a little monkey... So the new words are added in red and everyone writes the whole story in the post to keep track. Otherwise it will just get messy.

here is an excerpt from ours:

"I think our work here is done" said Orpheus. But fate, it seems, had other plans - because at that moment, the delivery men from Hogan's Hoagies pulled up with what looked like a 24 foot hoagie. Only, it wasn't a hoagie, it was a...sandwich made out of...... "RUBBER CHICKEN BREAST LIKE PIECES" Alien_Sniper gasps, and immediately searches thru his Irish version of a ditty bag only to discover that Norm was missing,..While all of this was going on, and not known to the crowds of Pole Lovers, something was making it's way up the street, it walked slowly and limped and groaned, it's teeth razor sharpe, its eyes red with fire, and it's head shaped like ........ the pointy end of doc brasso's elbow.
the creature in question stalks slowly up to the unsuspecting crowd, but just as its about to attack, a noise from under an upturned trash can draws its attention... suddenly..

I hate threads like that. I think Lil was the last person to try and start one, they usually involve the kiddies

yes they can, and sometimes do, but it doesn't have to.

we have had 3 very successful story threads at PFL. we do not do them often, that way we do not wear out a good thing.

snarkpit has fewer kiddies, than we used to, so my fear is small.

another good thought is, PFL never had a moderator over the story (we needed one, but didn't have to have one) this time we will.

i trust your judgment lep, but unless i get more negative feedback, i see no reason not to try again. these things are genuinely fun to do, age is not a requirement, and even very dry humor can lead to quite funny directions.

snarkpit has plenty of posters to make it work, as long as people do not post to rapidly, it should come out just fine.

fishy looked up from an old copy of Viz, and asked if it's still called kidnapping when the police have done it.

then its decided, matt doesn't want to have a story thread.

i guess he won't be in it when its begun, shame really.

if you change your mind about the value of the story, please feel free to voice it, until then, why don't you look around snarkpit a bit, i am sure you can find something more mature to comment about.

this is about as close as i am willing to get to an argument, so if its a fight you want matt.. go do it on another forum.
