This is a a discussion topic for the map "Abandoned Factory" by SpiKeRs which can be found here

Map description:

This is just a bit of a playaround I did to get away from the tedium of doing a proper map. Basically I wanted to create a setting based on piccies I have seen on that Abandoned Places websites. I have no intention of releasing this as something playable, its more something to look at smiley

Follow the dl link to see a bunch of pictures and panoramas of it. The images are deliberately large for the reason above.

You really did a good job bringing the source material into... uhm... the source engine. These shots look a cut above what you've done before (in cs_bulletheory for example) and I really like what I see.

The only thing that sticks out to my eye is the roofing on the gray buildings. I think a different (more roof-like) texture might look better.

Why not take the theme and basic geometry and turn this into a real map?

I've done so many proper maps, I wanted a change. Get away from worrying about gameflow and balance etc etc and do something small and compact and purely "visual" that only takes a week or so.

Yes, the images are big but my logic is that as I said before its a "visual" project. I doubt I will release this, the only representation of the map will be via the pics and panoramas and as such I wanted them to be large to get across as much of the ambience of the map as poss. I know that all sounds really "arty" but there we go smiley
