Map description:
This map is an entry into the 2006 Snarkpit mapping competition. It is based off of the Roman Pool on the Hearst Estate in San Simeon, CA. The Hearst Castle is truly a beautiful place filled with brilliant works of art and architecture. You will want to add it to your list of places to see before you die.
A Death Match version of this map will be released in July 2006. A beta dm version is currently available at natcarm.com.

Nice custom work!
The lights, the actual light part, should be brighter, though. It's weird to see a light emitting bowl shaded and actually darker at the bottom. It should be fullbright. My only complaint.

What can I say ? Great brushwork, great textures. You'll have a fair chance in the compo.

Sorry the description let you down Freeman. This map was set up for the "one room" competition and exists in this state purely for viewing and not playing. The only ncps in the map are seagulls.

I have had thoughts about making a full scale single player game out of the Combine taking over Hearst Castle. I'm not sure how well it would be received and if it would be worth the time investment.

If you would like to play in the roman pool just download the deathmatch version and frag with a few buddies.

Looks very much like the real thing, nicely done. Those tile textures, though, are screaming for some normal maps.
Other than that, excellent job.
