Hey all

Masive is just that - the map is goint o be taking up the entire world craft grid - and place hl under as much presure as it can

i have chosen to take advnatge of the MRT - and the SRT in 3.0, by making this map from the alien slaves point of view - this is much like POV Mod by DAV

at the moment i have a small lava lake - trying to keep as small as posible, to keep total map r_speeds down, and the start to the mines, that found the lava lake, and also your way to get through the map

please note that these screens are meduim quilty JPG's, and some of the quilty has been taken out due to that

TBH, I can't say I like it much. The textures are far too repetitive, the rock work is quite dull and boring. There's very little attention to detail, and it looks very, very empty.

To be honest, I cant see your map getting really far. The rooms are large and filled with hardly anything, unless you give them a hell of a lot more detail maybe then they will look ok, but if you can pull that off without the r's sky-rocketing you'll be a superhero.

Sure it's a good idea though

By the way, try post your screenies in 800x600.

Okay, so it's massive. I'm afraid that map is still incredibly ugly and unpleasing to the eye. You really need to work on texturing, architecture, lighting, and generally everything. [addsig]

Quality rather than quantity. Read up on some tutorials on architecture and scenery, make a smaller map to test out the ideas, THEN go for big projects. At the moment it looks bare and ugly

From my experience of "placing HL under as much pressure as it can take", I can give you some good advice:

Don't do it.

If you want to push the limits of the HL engine, you ought to have a damn good reason.  It will cause you a lot of grief, so you need to get something valuable in return.

In my map project, I feel I do get something really valuable in return.  Will you?
