Issues website. Click here!

Well, now that it's released... Comments? Don't just talk about Legacy, but post any thoughts you have about Issues in general. It's not the most perfect modification out there, but it's far from the worst too.

(Sorry about the poorly formatted news post on the front page; Control Panel won't let me edit the news item though, I just select it from the dropdown box and click 'edit' and nothing happens!)

(Yes, I know Legacy is super dark. Turn up your monitor settings and use your flashlight!)

Well I'm super stuck on the underwater level, and the walkthrough for it is....not much help Its the point where you flood the control room, how do you not drown? I'm sure I'm missing something super obvious but I've tried everything I can think of. The walkthrough just tells you to flood the room then leave through the previously locked surface access doors, but I can't even get out of the flooding room!

I skipped to Legacy as, to be honest, its the reason I downloaded the mod. Very very nice, and I loved the way the messages are done, really keeps the level interesting Some great design in there, and the weapon balance seems good - its nice to be forced to use the magnum for once Good job on the level definately, and while it is perhaps a little dark, it kinda helps the atmosphere. Well done to MrBen also, since he was also a part in it.

MrBen and Campaignjunkie productions!

You mean Campaignjunkie and MrBen productions, of course.

Just like to note that I did all of the weapon and monster placement by myself in one pass. MrBen did nothing. NOTHING!!

ReNo, you don't drown by using the air tanks with the use button.

I played the first and a little bit of the second level before I was sick of it - needless to say, these maps have got some issues.

Those were the same mapper. And the worst maps. Type in "map hub1" into the console, I believe it is. Unless you want to hear the "plot."

Just played Legacy itself - it's some fine work, short though it is. Textures need more sexification, and the terain wasn't too detailed.

The majority of the brushwork (95%) is all left over from MrBen's DarkTruths maps. All I did was optimize it (he made some stupid design decisions, had to fix those to get r_speeds decent - ah, the ignorance of youth!) Ditto with the texturing; it's all unaltered Shaderlab stuff. Blame MrBen, that lazy git! *runs from MrBen's wrath*

Issues doesn't like Steam, nor does Legacy. Therefore I haven't played it. So much for steam compatibility. [addsig]

Yeah I couldn't get it working with steam either, so I used my old HL installation (left on for occasions such as this ). I personally thought the textures were fine to great, shaderlab textures are perfectly sexy! [addsig]

I don't use steam yet, don't play HL online

Some of it looks good, haven't played it yet mind you, but the touch of the messages seems a cool idea. When it's done send a link to PC Gamer magazine, they tend to put mods on thier CD's...

Played it all the way through. Some of the maps were a bit tacky, especially the very first one with all of the boxy rooms. Xenpit was quite fun, it had the multi-floor complexity similar to gmdm2, however I seemed to have explored everywhere and I couldn't see what was left, even after noclipping around to check. Shame it wasn't finished. Legacy is quite good, one of the best maps in the pack. Can't really think of much to fix on that one.

Quite a fun level pack overall though, kept me at it for a good few hours.

Yes i did get pwned there. CJ did a good job of turning 2 very bad maps into 1 very good map so whilst a lot of the base architecture is mine the gameplay and the way it is all pieced (i orginially had it TOTALLY different) together is all his. GJ.

I'd rate it 5/5 but i can't! It's a conspiracy i tell you.

Curse you Campaignjunkie. Curse you and your evil burns of all who are sacred to me. Except for the NW people. Cool? Yes. Sacred? No.

While a lot of issues was hit or miss, Legacy was certainly the high point and was worth the download just to experience it. Beautiful surroundings (though a couple of overly dark spots? maybe just my settings), some cool gameplay sequences, and some good old humour thrown in for good measure. If only there were more to it, but then I guess its meant to be quite short when its part of a larger entity!
