That looks incredible! I love the style you put into your maps. Hope this one gets released.

It's coming along very well. Love that reflective ground. The thing that stands out most are your non spherical domes and that crappy texture on them.

Hmm, only going to use the crappy fake-spheres for scenic parts of the map. Good idea on trying to find a better texture for them.

Reflection is killing my compile time, methinks (VIS freezes, have to use -fast). Only 2-3 rooms and I already have to chop the map up... Geeze! 8)!
I have the cure to your texture issue. Took is upon myself to draw a proper one for you. The image is reduced from a 1024 X 1024 texture that I drew (got to get used to that size :P ) you can view the texture at the website link below. Look me up on AIM if you like how it looks you can have it.

My comments from the forum thread, after a 5 person playtest...

CJ's "Persian Letters" has more potential than pretty much any other DM map I've seen, but in its current shape it leaves quite a bit to be desired. Anomalies such as func_illusionary handrails with no clip brush, or seemingly solid bits of rubble that you can fall righ through, detract quite a bit from the stunning first impressions. It runs like a dream considering the awesome grandeur and detail, and while gameplay was hampered by some questionable weapon placement (which can be attributed both to CJ's original plans for a non-DM game mode which has so far failed to materialise, and no doubt lack of time) the layout and z-axis combat mean this could be one hell of a player as well as a looker.

Stunning, at least the screenshots are. I tried to dl it but I dont feel like moving all of your files to the right directories. It looks nice but I dont feel like spending time moving all of the files out the persia directory into the right ones. Nice.

Errr, just copy all the folders from the persia folder in the zip into your valve folder, and the job is done

The first map that had me crying 'Total Sweetness' out loud. Really, it's that impressive. Large, almost overwhelming at first while still being very detailed, this map breathes athmosphere...
The lever and door tricks only add to the map, and although the map is pretty large, the landmarks make the sweetness pretty good navigatable.

It's a pity that some of the things ReNo mentioned weren't fixed before the release. Some little spots with HOM effect, some seemingly solid brushes I felt trough... you really should fix them.

But, overall, mapping at it's best!
