Maybe add some more lights to the big hall ? Looks kinda dark. Otherwise, impressive architecture, great work.

Looks better than your CS map
that big hall window in the first screeny would like nice if it was a stained glass window.

In the 2nd screen, would the light really be coming in like that on both sides?

The glass in the first screen sticks out like a sore thumb. I'm impressed with what you've done so far. I've never seen the Harry potter movies so I'm in no position to comment on any inaccuracies though.

Wow, I wasn't overly impressed by your 'in worldcraft' screenshots of this map, but map seems to have really good atmosphere. Agreed on the stained glass window.

Perhaps you could find a replacement texture for the concrete in the second map. Of course it could be that this matches the film because I haven't seen it either

I've been doing a bit of hunting for some replacement textures, no luck on the stain glass though. I'll have a look at replaceing the concrete today, it does a little bit off putting.
[edit] found a stained glass! just compiling, looks to be nice

Cool, nice work on the lighting

I like maps that are based on movies, like some of the ones in TS. Someone made a really in-depth hogwarts map for Q3 that had hogsmead as well as most of the things from all 5 books in it. How much detail will you be placing into yours?

Its looking good so far. Nice atmosphere all around and the connectivity is very good. If the entire thing ends up looking like the dining hall then it should be a very good map. I did find a couple wierd things tho... The water in the fountain has some very high waves. The fireplace is casting no light, right next to some torches on the wall which do cast light. The windows in the room with the floating candles look kinda odd(not to mention the floating candles!). I'd get rid of them or at least replace them with a different window texture. Also I'm assuming you have a leak since the whole level was in a skybox. If you haven't already fixed it I'd be happy to have a stab at it.

Thanks for the reply Jfry! The fountain atm has gone, because i am rebuilding that area, i'll look into making the fireplace cast some light,i didn't see that :S The floating candles are part of the map as they are in the movie, and the reason the whole level is in a sky box is because i will do the sky box last because i am adding in more areas. Thanks for the help

It is a nice start but needs a lot of polishing. I can see where it was inspired by Harry Potter but it lacks the polish to make it really FEEL like Hogwarts.

It looks like a good start but you SERIOUSLY need to see the Harry Potter movies. You need a better set of textures (perhaps the piranessi wad). The windows in pic 4, for example , are really ugly.
