You shouldn't make clones of crappy levels (Don't make one of that horrid iceworld map)... But if you actually made that, which I think you did (You wouldn't have to copy the sky since its not a mod)

Dust is hardly a crappy level; it's only one of the most played levels of all time for any game. The 1000's of poorly made spinoffs are the crappy levels.

Using a program called ripen, one can edit the entities to transfer a map from one mod to another.

The program is called ripent, not ripen.

Well if I recall correctly, Dust doesnt look like that anymore. Now its got wires and other assortments hanging over head. Ruined cars and such... uh oh... thats not a remake anymore. [addsig]

I've played it, and there is a reason levels like this arn't dm maps. The problem is that it still feels like a cs map, and the weapon placement doesn't help either.

its quite a big map didnt want the problem of running around with the pistol and dying 10 times before you can actually get a weapon but thx for the coment again reno

I appreciate why you did it, but I think some variation could have been nice. Perhaps, for instance, you could have put another crossbow in the map, since in a map like this with no LJ module, no gauss jumping space, long views, and a single crossbow, it would be extremely dangerous and easy to camp without enemies armed with a crossbow. YES! WOOHOO finally another dust god I've been waiting so long for this. Thank you for filling another very large niche in the HL community. Oh the nights I couldn't sleep, waiting for some brilliant mind to conjure up another more exciting dust. And this one is so original and unique in its own way. I can't wait til someone makes a remake of aztec (hint hint).

there is actually a dm remake of that iceworld map.. lol and it sux

About that dust map. actually I think remakes could be good, but I experienced that the most important thing about them is missing. which is a good item placement so it makes a good DM map. It sounds as if it's again totally screwed up in this map. If you really remade the map not by decompiling you did well. I thought it was de_dust when I took a first look. About the gauss: maybe you should rise the sky so you can fly over the whole map? could be a great feature.
