Someone may get a kick out of this...

Deathmatch level for HalfLife and The Specialists, may also work in other mods that support DM but untested. Its an early beta so there will be misaligned textures and other crud, final layout will prolly be changed to reduce polys.

Web page with DL and screens -Beemer

Direct DL 2.7mb -dm_beemer.zip

Parts if it are by Schmung and Insulaner who supplied .RMFs for a TS mapping competition, this sort of inspired me to create it.

This is probably one of the best looking city maps I have run across in awhile. I must admit I was impressed. Nice layout, good connectivity and very realistic texturing job. Weapon placement seems to need tweaking but all in all a really cool looking map. Lemme know when you have final release on it.

@Vash+Orph - heh, you gotta luv those dialup friendly, scuzzy screenies. And yup, r_speeds are crappy on a lot of the outdoor areas, mores the pity.

@Schmung - sorry about hacking your lovely .RMF to bits   It was much harder to use those .RMFs than i thought it would be. BTW, i haven't played TS much so stuff like the room heights may not be big enough.

@Juim - thx, will post a final here. Items were dropped in v.quickly just to get the map workable for a playtest, should be sorted in the final.

Don't forget, MS is important to show, especially with a city map such as this one... If it's intended for RP, it probably has a bunch of rotating/blinking/moving trinkets that only the MS count can measure the hit on your system by.

Looks nice, do you happen to live in the city?   The city (any city) is awesome to gather inspiration from.   I'll be living in San Francisco by the end of October myself.

@Vash- ooh ! thx man, appreciate any sort of feedback.

@Cassius - AFAIK the MS's are CPU/system dependent ?

@Grimlock - i live in the suburbs ATM. Yup, there's a lot of inspiration in city architecture. I'm jealous - the West coast is somewhere i've always wanted to go but never had the cash, hope i win the lottery this week

<sentiment>
Ah, the good ol' west coast. The Canadian Rockies. The misty breeze of the Pacific Ocean. 'tis beautiful.

Actually I live in the city, but I've seen the ocean and mountains many, many times. I've also Road-tripped across Canada, got as far as Toronto.

Pictures are often a good inspiration for maps, but you always have to have a little creativity and original content.

I'm in the UK and Bulgaria is prolly the furthest i've been. Some really god-awful, drab, urban areas there - ideal stuff for a mapper.
